His, not mine obviously.Good thing I wasn't the small stack, because this would have ended my tournament. I lost anyway, but this one was a tough one.Would anybody out there have played it differently? It was a very low stakes sng.
does this qualify as a bad beat?

Well, I probably would have surrendered my SB with 2-3 which happens to be the single worst hand against 1 single opponent. However, once you saw the flop, yeah, then it's a bad beat.

Yeah, it was a loose call pre-flop, but if the flop is low cards there's no chance he puts me on anything. As is what happened. If he raises pre-flop I fold unless it's the minimum. It's a pretty standard play for me heads up. Is that wrong?I have a question. Has anyone ever put an opponent on a straight flush and folded? That's advanced play in my book.

I personally think that it is an automatic fold, but whatever. If there are 4 to the flush on the board, it's possible to put someone on a straight flush, but if I have the A I'm paying it off anyway.

was a terrible call on the flop by him... but your bet really did reek of bluff although he couldnt beat a bluff :?

no, it wasn't. You were behind on every street. On the flop you had 2 pair he had a flush, turn he had the straight flush, and the river you improved to second best hand. If he has an A
your still beaten by a straight flush. not a bad beat in the slightest, you would need to be way ahead for it to qualify as a bad beat and you were behind the whole way

He was four to the flush and had the gutshot straight flush. He was not ahead on the flop. With two cards to come he had 13 outs as well as lots of runner-runner opptys since i was bottom two pair. I was 54% favorite there, but he called 2000 to win 3200. That was hardly worthwhile unless of course you put some implied odds in there which if he hits his flush (or straight) he doubles up.I'm thinking it's technically a bad beat, but not as bad some runner runner two outers of course. My only recourse here would have been to put him all in on the flop, to try to take it there (reverse implied odds if you like), otherwise he could pretty much call any raise I make.Doncha just love poker?
