I'm playing my first 25 dollar buy in tourney at CueNique, which is a Bar/Pool Hall here in Madison.First hour goes great, I am chip leader at my table, great cards. Second hour, cold deck, but pick up a few pots before moving to another table8 TablesFinal table is paid So, the break to 4 tables was just made after I've been at the new table for 40 mins or so, haven't won a hand yet at the table, but not much in the way of cards either.I get AA in mid position. 1 Guy limps in before me, and I raise it to 400. Everyone folds down to the original limper who makes it 700.I've got about 1400 and change left (started with 800) and without hesitation I say "all in." The guy literally calls immediately and flips over...QJ offsuit. Flop comes K-J-xAnother guy says he tossed a q, leaving 4 outsJ on the turn, and that's a wrap. The guy had been at my original table and was down to 140 chips at one point of the 20/40 blinds. He tripled up twice, once with QQ against two pocket pairs smaller and once with Q4 offsuit! Each time I said nice hand, and his reply is "It's just a game."Of course, 25 dollars is a substantial amount to me, since I'm a poor college senior. I'm going to play in the tourney again next week, and hopefully it goes better, heh. Finished in the top half at least, but yeah, this is a bad beat story that rivals anything online.

I have been owned so many times by people asking "what's a rake?" Mainly because in droves, they can get ya.Especially these days it's foolish to sit at the lowest stakes tables, although your situation is clearly different.
