I don't care all that much about the game either way, but this game was tainted. I could go on and on about the Pittsburgh players being offsides on several penalties called against Seattle/

Frankly, it would take a TON of convincing that it's even possible that the refs just "randomly" blew that many calls against Seattle.

Normally I'm not too big on conspiracy theories, but I am wholeheartedly convinced that this game was fixed.

Hi.

There's already 30 threads on this subject... not one on the faked moon landing, though.

Which, by the way, is more likely

Who is this weirdo?

Seriously though, it wasn't rigged. The officiating was pretty bad but not unprecedented. You're starting to sound like Tritz.

All the officiating breaks in the world couldn’t have make up for Seattle’s lack of offence

Lack of offense? 400 total yards is a lack of offense since when? Maybe their lack of Jeramy Stevens being able to catch the ball but lack of total offense I would say no. Lack of plays being negated by senseless penalty calls, yes.

Unless you decide to count about four or five touchdowns that were erased by the refs.

Honestly dude, I'm not anti-Steelers or even pro-Seattle, but as an objective observer if you watch that game and all of the replays you'll become very suspicious.

I even saw "tells" from the refs. There was one call, where Hasselback fumbled and was CLEARLY touched on the way down, yet the refs were trying SO HARD to call it a fumble. It was as clear as day, but it took these guys forever to finally say, "No fumble."

There was shady business going on in this game, I'm dead serious. I've never said this about any other game in any sport, ever. There was cheating going on.

That's not to say that Pittsburgh couldn't have won without it, but they didn't. I'm totally convinced.

Perhaps he meant the inability to convert that offensive yardage into points. No doubt they got screwed on the officiating, but that wasn't the reason they lost. And it most definitely was not rigged. If anything it is -EV for the NFL for Pittsburgh to win because it takes more focus away from their golden boy Patriots.

I'll assume that that was a question, even though it doesn't seem like it was. No, I wasn’t joking. Do you feel Pittsburgh was getting run over, but ghastly officiating kept pinning them back?

Who said anything about the NFL being involved in the scandal? I don't think the NFL had anything to do with it, but I'd love to put those refs through a lie detector test and see how they fare. They had tells. Totally scared, totally uncomfortable, and they looked like they were lying.

They were the NFL's all-star crew though. They were the ones who were rated the highest at their respected postions all season. I wonder how the rating system is done? Do they get a group of chimpanzees in a room to pick numbers out of a hat and place it on an official's name? If so that would be something quite interesting to see!
