Party Poker
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $0.50/$1
9 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is MP3 with [Ah] [Ts]
2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, Hero raises, MP1 calls.

Flop: [Th] [7d] [Qs] (5.5SB, 2 players)
MP1 bets, Hero calls.

Turn: [As] (3.75BB, 2 players)
MP1 bets, Hero???

Then the turn brings a king, should I call the river? Anything else different? The villain was fairly loose in my small sample size, but not terribly aggressive.

I would have raised the flop. If he reraises, you can fold the flop. Now you have to call down, IMO.

Raise the flop. If he 3-bet, call and fold turn UI.
As you played it, I'd just call down. DEFINATELY don't fold the river no matter what card it is.

Raising the flop is better. If you're three-bet, calling and folding UI is MUCH better than folding to the 3-bet.
Always bet like you've got a pair.

Raise the flop. Take control of the hand, it opens up your options and makes the hand easier to play.

Aggression is good. Passiveness is bad.

Other than not raising the flop, everything else seems to make sense? After the turn 3 bet and the king on the river I just called down since that's not actually posted.

A7 if you won.
77 if you lost.

I'm practicing my hand reading...

For some reason the thought of A7 didn't enter my mind...so you've got me on that one! I mean, don't get me wrong. It makes sense the way it played out, but I just didn't think about it. But that's why I'm here, isn't it? :-)

AQ/TT/QQ/ raise preflop

77 c/r's flop or waits until turn to wake up (note: I only included 77 in my guess to cover my bases if you lost, initially, A7 was my only guess)

bottom pair donknig the flop is quite common
the turn action sealed the deal on an Ace.
They love their Aces.

I would still just call down after his 3-bet.
Partly becuase I"m a wuss; but mostly because I'm in pos, getting his $$$ anyway, and not risking being wrong and 3-bet again.
