Dustin07 0
howdy all, great site!I've been considering starting a legitimate non-smoking 18+ cardroom. only 5 tables most likely, all poker. just hardcore poker playing. probably no house-banked games. i was wondering if anyone else has ran a JUST Poker cardroom? (legitimately that is). Looks like the WSGC has different licenses available and the one i'd probaly go after is a 5 table limit. my concerns though are finding dealers, figuring out how much to pay them, and also setting up security (CCTV cameras, etc.)any input on this? I LOVE poker, but do not smoke. i don't like the fact that i have to take a shower after playing at a casino, or that fact that i have a sore throat for a couple days after a long session either. I am also thinking that when i first start this place it will be more club like, only open Friday-Saturday-Sunday. i think that is enough to pay rent and dealer/security salaries...any input would be hugely appreciated.thanks,Dustin
Dustin07 0
i guess to be more clear on my questions/concerns........What is a decent starting pay for a dealer? (i'd have to figure probably 6 at a time if i have 5 tables i'm thinking)What kind of tables do most players consider to be of higher value. i know we are there for the cards, but you have to agree, if you are paying a rake to play in a casino, the whole appearence, including tables, is important to you. What type of rake seems reasonable? Washington states limit is 10%to $5 i believe. i was thinking 10% $4 would be reasonable. $3 seems to be a standard out here, but i think 10% to $4 is OK since being a non-smoking venue it is offering a value-added.Does anyone know about any WAshington local dealer schools? or maybe a good DVD/video for training with? Also, can anyone recommend a good custom chip manufacturer? i've seen quite a few that look good on the internet.thanks again folks,Dustin
Dendog 0
http://www.dealer-training.com/index.htmlthis is fairly reputable from what ive heard..and fairly cheap as it goes.Ive ordered it and found great success..They cover everything in regards to dealing a no limit game, even going so far as to tell you how to deal with sidepots.as far as your other questions, this is the only one i can help with.Dendog
