In my 2 years of playing online (almost exclusively No Limit ring and tournament play) I've come accross two big tells that average and even some above average players are guilty of.The first is what i call the ninja bet. Its fast and furious and and usually a bluff... at any point in the hand but usually postflop its a relatively moderate to large bet that comes as soon as it is the persons turn to act. This impulsive play is almost always an attempt to steal, no thought put into a bet usually means there was nothing to think about. This guy is not doing any math, hes not worried about his kicker etc... he is simply frustrated and trying to pick up a pot. The second is a seemingly weak bet that a shorter stack will make with the intent of moving in as soon as an oppurtunity presents itself (either a raise or the next card hits the board.) An example might be I'm at a sit and go lets say a guy has 1,200 chips left and the blinds are cranking up something like 150, 300. He calls into a pot with KJ and im in the BB with k6... the flop lands K 10 7. He pauses and bets 600... This has happened countless times to me and now it just screams "hey I hit my K and my kickers good im gonna take my shot". Now if the same player had A9 lets say and is frustrated and trying to steal, that 600 bet turns into All In and I adjust my play accordingly. Not to say these 2 tells always play out this way but I've seen it count less times and have made many a payout watching for and exploitong these tells.Interested to see what you all think and if you've noticed any other betting patterns that online players tend to fall into.

in my online experience the first tell you address is hardly reliable, so i don't put much stock in that tell. Many times a caller with announce, "If you had to think that long to bet, you OBVIOUSLY don't have it," when the sole cause for delay is a quick jump to answer the phone or door. AFK, multitabling, and(in my case), a jumpy wireless mouse pointer can all make my bet or raise look like a bluff. It's just not something consistent enough to (re)act upon.I strongly agree with your second point, however that bet never affects how I play the hand out. If a short stack at any point in a tourney makes what i call a "cutesy teaser bet" like the one you describe, I only have two real options...If I sense he's underbetting his good cards or I'm limping...it's an easy fold. Anything else, RERAISE him all-in. If you are confident enough to call it's better to take control of the hand than allow the short stack to see another card. More often than not, the reraise pushes out drawing hands and leaves me with at the very least a coin flip situation.
