about poker? I'm really enjoying my new hobby, and Feb. has been the first month in which I've posted fairly substantial gains (since I started back in July.) But some of the events in the last twenty four hours have me wondering...Last night, I had a strange dream. I was playing an O8 SnG on PP. I was making all the right decisions, reading my opponents perfectly. Winning every hand I was involved in, yet I was losing chips. I was the short stack the whole time. I mean, I kept winning pots, but losing money. But I made it down to the last three...and then the alarm clock went off. Woke up wondering who won. Head to my first "real life" job. Pretty uneventful. Manage to read up on some Poker Psychology during my break.Head to my second "real life" job in the afternoon. New customer walks up to the counter, I take down his info and start to fill his prescription. Nudge a fellow technician and ask him "Hey, don't you think that guy looks a lot like John Juanda?" "Who is Juanda??" he asks. So, I'm getting ready to send the nightly order to restock the inventory and I actually ask my pharmacist... "Okay, I've ordered the 7.5 mg Lortabs. Are there any other shortstacks that we need to rebuy?" :? None of my co-workers know really know about my newfound hobby...and they look at me strangely when I use some of the terminology.Anyone else experience this stuff? Is it healthy? Does it balance out after a while? I'm really, really enjoying my new hobby. But things like this sometimes make me sit back and wonder...I'll be back in bit...gonna go eat dinner while I read my new issue of Cardplayer that just arrived in the mail this afternoon. :D

I think I'm in love.
Suddenly I turned around
And she was standin' there
With silver bracelets on her wrists
And flowers in her hair.
She walked up to me so gracefully
And took my crown of thorns.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

I did the same thing when I started. I couldn't get the game out of my head. I would dream about it, think about, and hopefully talk about it with anyone. But this has lessened in the last few months. Though do be warned, when someone close to you has a good session, or wins a tournament, it all comes back. My boyfriend won a big tourney on the weekend, and that's all we've talked about for the last four days.
