over the weekend i was in tunica and at the last minute i decided to jump into the 35+15 saturday rebuy at the goldstrke. after a pretty crazy first hour, i ended up with 6k in chips and roughly $220 invested.. AK ran into AA, JJ vs. QQ.. the usual.. i end up going on a rush and get to the final table 3rd in chips with around 59k.. four people drop pretty quickly and then this hand happens.. i would like to know what others think.. i do have to throw in that i had been up for over 30 hours and may not have been thinking clearly.
6 handed, blinds at 6000/12000.. i have 59k and the button.
under the gun (roughly 80k) limps and it folds to me.. i have KQ off.. i raise to 32k and it folds to the UTG limper. he thinks for awhile and finally pushes and i obviously call with 3/4 of my chips in.. he has A9o.. flops and ace and i'm out in 6th..
my question is, what do you do in this spot? folding there is not really an option to me.. my only other guess is to just push.. any suggestions would be appreciated.

you got it...push. Theres nothing you can fold to after a raise, so put max pressure on pre-flop

With your chip stack and those blinds, either push em all in, or fold. In this spot, I like a fold better than a push, as there is already someone in the pot who may or may not have a monster hand at that point. First in vigorish is a great tool at that point of the tourney. 8)

Ewwww. Dont like folding here at all. Youre getting a minimum of 3:2 odds for a push, and there are very few hands that you arent at least 40% to win. The blinds are coming up and your M is only 3+.

Without knowing any of the other stack sizes, and knowing that I personally would want to move up the ladder as much as possible BUT not wanting to bust out in 6th if there is anyone else even close to going out. Sure, I want to win, but I don't want to be putting my tournament in jeopardy knowing that I am an underdog to just about anything that can call my push.

Yeah, you have to push here. I think any hand worth playing for you should be a push anyways, that weak raise is not nearly as strong as a push, he would have a bit of trouble calling the push with a9, but still might make the call if he understands the situation and realizes how many hands you may be pushing with.

I might agree if there are imminent bust outs and the payout is already getting steep. Since OP never said either I assume they dont apply. Even then my guess is that a push is right. You push out too many hands that youre only a small favorite over.

you played it aggressively and correctly. A call/fold to a flop bet isnt very popular as it accounts for 20% of your stack, but i wouldnt mind calling to hit something and not going broke if i dont. Truth is these are the hands that make and break tournaments and you were willing to put in your chips as a slight dog, not bad, but not good either. I think in the long run the old fold/push is in effect rather than a 32k raise. Is it 4 yet? I need to go dominate some stt.

thanks for the replies. moving up a few spots wasn't dictating how i played since the increases weren't that much.. i had tough time putting him on a hand that we would limp with there.. good experience, but def. not a tournament i play again.. going to vegas on the 5th, so it was good brush up on live tourny play.

Definitely a push. If someone is limping with a monster hand, that's rough, but you really want to pick it up right there, and with high blinds and a limp already in, it would be a huge boost to your stack.
