Today I played a couple Single Table Satellites at the Borgata trying to get into the main event there. I was doing pretty good playing SQUEAKY tight in the $250 + 20 until this hand:
I'm in the BB with about 6.5K in chips (started with 4k). Blinds are at 400/800. 7 players remaining.
Cutoff Raises all-in (about 2K). I check my cards at this point and see QQ. CO has played very conservatively, but always weak post-flop.
Small blind Re-Raises All-in and has me covered. These two went at each other earlier and both had AK, with the SB being the aggresor. The SB is a VERY solid player. TAG and knows when to throw away a hand.
This looks like the SB wants to Isolate. Why would he want to isolate I ask myself. Something tells me, he's got middle to medium pocket pairs (88 thru JJ) or AK. Why else would he isolate?
So I called.
He had KK, and the CutOff had QJo taking one of my queens.
KK holds up, and I'm done.
So,........
Does my logic make sense for calling the All-In? I didn't see him having KK or AA, as he would WANT me to call it, right?
-------
side note: heard the dealers talking about the guy that took the first event (500 I think?). Anyway, the guy wins $171K and leaves the dealers a $28 dollar tip. The one dealer was livid talking about it. But he also said how well Daniel tipped when he won the Borgata Main Event, which is great to hear.
live satellite - constructive criticism please

Your M is 5 and with QQ, this is an easy all-in. CO's M is below 2 and should be going in with any two cards. SB probably has a decent hand but it was just unlucky that he had one of the two starting hands that was better than yours.

Easy call!
Just tough luck to be up against KK.

Was there one last night? I played in Today's..it's hard to keep track...
I finished 6th today so missed the next round by two. I was 6th out of 6 with blinds at 400/800 and needed to make a move. MP raised 3x to 2500, CO called. I jammed for my last 6K+ with AQo. BB comes OOT and MP and CO both fold.
BB had 99 so I was pleasantly surprised but I didn't hit my A or Q; almost bubble boy.
Didn't really like two players in before me but I was getting desperate.

It was today, but before my nap, so it was yesterday.
I was card dead and out in the 3rd round or so. I saw rocketwad in also...maybe he fared better.
