No reads on Villain. I thought this limp re-raise was very suspicious as it wasn't even double my bet. My first reaction was that his most likely hands were AA or KK. Am I giving him too much credit here? My thinking was that I didn't want to play a big pot out of position and that I didn't have proper odds to hit my set. This guy made it to the final 3 with me & played like a complete donk, which made me question this play even more. He was calling all ins with hands like 98s!!!!!!! #1. Absent any info that he plays like a donk, is folding the best line here? 2. Given that you know he plays like a donk, what's your play?

the math doesn't make sense. you raised 250 more, and he raises 150 on top of that?
I think i would raise a little less, and at that point see a flop. He seems like a complete donk, and i bet we take all his money with a flopped set even when he has air.
your situation, i probably fold. It's either that or all in if you trust his donkiness to try a play like this.

as to your later play revealing how horrible he was, don't worry so much about that.
Today I had JJ the first hand of a SNG. Villian min raises to 3o in the CO, i raise 125 from the Button, and he insta pushes all in. Seemed pretty clear that i was beat or at best against AK. Later on he called an all in on the river with ten high! That was the worst he did, but at that point i really doubted my early play, but what else could I do?
Also, try to figure out how much the raise was and your remaining stack, because i think you can justify just calling with the blinds not being all that high just yet.

The implied odds he leaves me with if I hit my set are 7.99:1, assuming I take his whole stack. I like my odds to be at least 10:1 in this situation, since I'm 8:1 to hit my set.

I actually meant to raise to 250. I usually raise 3-4xBB & then add 1 BB for each limper & base my decision on position & hand strength. Here, I had a very vulnerable hand where I was out of position so I decided to go on the high end. Once the blinds hit 50/100 I won't raise more than 4 times the BB (opening raises are never more than 3). I like a raise to 250 in this situation (not sure how the hell I came up with 300).

The limp reraise can mean anything especially at the early levels of a sng or tournament. Folding is ridiculous. Call and hope to hit a nice flop. If he happens to have AA or KK and you flop an overpair you weren't meant to win the sng.

Folding is ridiculpous? I would have to say that statement is ridiculous. Not only could he have AA or KK, but he could also have QQ, JJ, TT, or some drawing hands that have the potential to outflop us. Thinking we're ahead here could be a lot more expensive than the initial call. I certainly am not willing to put all my money in the pot here if I flop an overpair. What would he possibly pay us off with that we have beat?
