Hey all
As a few may know im actually a no Limit player ($5/$10) and i really want to start learning limit. I've started at $1/$2 and after 10300 hands im at BB1.60/100, is this enough hands played and a good enough rate too move up to $2/$4 now?
Many thanks
moving up limits

Yea, go ahead.
The limits are fairly similar in the quality of player, betting structure, etc., and the fact that you are beating 1/2 should translate to you beating 2/4.
I would recommend reading SSHE because there are a lot of concepts in there that should increase your win-rate, assuming you haven't read it already.
Posting/critiquing hands in this forum will also key you in on some of the aspects that change when the betting structure is changed from NL to FL. I'm also a convert NL player and these boards have helped improve my overall game tremendously.

I would probably jump straight to 5/10 if I were you. Definitely 2/4 though.

you wr is too close to 0 to know if you are beating 1/2.
that notwithstanding whatever you true wr is at 1/2, you can probably do about the same at 2/4
personally my winrate is 12x higher at 2/4.
but party 1/2 was an anomaly for me.
if you played 1/2 with $600, and won $320 (my math right?) you don't have enough to play 2/4.
at least if your not supplementing the bankroll

i think he has the BR if he used to play $5/$10NL (unless he went busto). go ahead and play $2/$4 if you've got the cash. the tables can be looser because the bonus whores love $1/$2, and they are notoriously rockish.

is that Bonus whore /12 rockish thing true for all sites? or just party.
speedz has made a home at 1/2.
good point on BR..
But my point was along the lines of, I like to build my BR thru playing. Using a NL BR is "cheating"

i don't know. they do some special nit math to figure what level clears the bonus for the least amount of rake.

I'm also a convert from NL and am absolutely loving limit.
I'd be wary about moving up, as with the higher standard of play you may struggle to maintain a +ve win rate moving up. I'd read SSHE and Lee Jones to try and up your win rate at $1/2. I've learnt alot from these books and this forum in quite a short time.

1/2 sucks. Play 2/4. AINEC.

I dunno about the least amount of rake, but 1/2 does clear bonuses fastest. I think the pot gets raked at $5 and it's pretty easy to get there at 1/2. It also gets raked at $5 in .5/1, which doesn't happen nearly as often. I know the number becomes higher at 2/4, but I don't remember what it is off the top of my head. Still though, less raked pots at 2/4.
Maybe that's why I find 1/2 especially frustrating, but I definitely prefer 2/4.

The question will always be, how certain do you want to be?
Considering you have a bankroll for 5/10NL, the answer is probably "certain enough"
