i don't see how you could not call that river raise.if AK holds up there at least one in every 10 times you are profiting.

I don't think he was asking if he should call the river raise. I think he was asking if he should have checked the river rather than betting it.Bet the river. More times than not you wont see a flush. You are betting this river for value. 4 times you have the best hand and win an extra big bet and 1 time you are beat and lose two big bets. Net profit of 2bb.The only time I check a river is if the river card makes a alot of possible straights and a flush with alot of people in the pot.

One of the few times I'm going to disagree with Wroto. Why bother betting on the end into this pot. The opponent played this hand like a draw the whole way, if you bet on the end and they missed their draw they aren't going to call the bet, but they will reraise if they make their draw. Why waste the bet, play straight forward and only waste one bet on the river instead of two. Your math and reasons for value betting on the end are correct, only and only if the opponent is willing to put in one more big bet with the second best hand. If you bet and get reraised only by the best hand and you don't get the extra bet from the second best hand then this play has negative expectation.

I didn't add in the times when he wasn't on a draw. When you have him out-kicked, or when he's calling down with an under-pair or middle pair.
