possible spot to slowplay?

i wouldn't get fancy here. you have no reason to believe mp is going to bet this flop.just bet and hope someone caught a piece of it.

Sometimes you'll have people more inclined to fold to a turn bet with a 7 (for instance) if you wait for the turn, because the pot will be so much smaller relative to the bet.Occasionally giving a free card will allow someone to hit second pair and dump a bet or two - but more often, but that wont make up for the value that you miss by not betting the flop.

This is actually a good reason NOT to slowplay. If you check the flop, and they either miss their flush or pick up another draw, they may not call a turn bet because the pot is too small (most people will call, but I'm assuming your read is correct).Now if you bet the flop, any flush draw will likely call it and call a turn bet. And of course any K will call and more likely raise your flop bet (giving you a chance to raise the turn).In general slow playing is a bad idea. I only do it when I have position and someone is betting into me.

What I'm suggesting is that SBs check indicates that he probably doesn't have a flush draw, and that if MP checks behind, it almost certainly means he doesn't have a flush draw. In that case, I'm miles ahead of whatever my opponents could have, and since their failure to bet indicates they probably have nothing at all, and would have no reason to call if I bet the flop.So I'm wondering if I do better in this tiny pot if I give people a chance to take a stab at the pot, or possibly to make a pair on the turn with which they will pay me off.(While I was playing the hand, I bet the flop without really even thinking about it. But I was thinking about it afterwards.)

I bet. If they have a peice, they'll raise, if not, you might win 1 extra bet by inducing a bluff. Also, say it gets checked through and someone makes a little pair on teh turn. They are likely to fold anyway, because their pot odds are terrible.

I check if Mp has a tendecency to take a fair number of stabs. If you dont know, betting is a safer play here.
