I'm looking to get a different P2P client for mostly music downloads. Currently I have Limewire, but it seems to slow down my computer immensely. Any suggestions?

Is there any reason why you don't want to use bit torrents?

I use bit torrents for movies, games, full albums etc. I find it hard to find single songs with bit torrents....maybe I should just look harder?

Limewire is the only Napster clone I use anymore. But I'm so disconnected from popular music that I never try to download single songs. Sorry.

I use emule. I can get a single song downloaded in 30 minutes but 25 minutes of the time is just waiting in line. You should use a IP blocker, though to keep everyone off your back. Many companies are scanning the P2P networks looking for people sharing movies, etc etc.

You can get an updated list of IP's to block from here:

http://www.bluetack.co.uk/index.php

It's free. Use this and Emule and you should be ok. I use Peer Guardian for an IP blocker but not sure if you can find it anymore. I don't use P2p much anymore because not much I really want lately.
Can you handle my blog?

Probably. Do you have a router? Did you open up the ports the software needs to run? Have you tried using a spin off system with more options like BitTornado?

P2Ps are rigged.

I use Limewire.

You might have your uploading setting too high.

I like Utorrent.

I agree, if you take some time to tweak the settings of Limewire, your computer doesn't really get affected.

i've used a variety of p2p file-sharing programs, and found Ares to be my favorite.
