Limit Player 0
the pot doesn't seem to be that big for this cold call, and I think your play looks very obvious to the other players - you're looking for the flush. If the spade does fall, how many bets do you think you'll win on the river? someone who's a better player than I am can probably lay this out for you, but I'm not a fan of it in this spot. Whatever 1
I'm getting 5 to 1 there on my pot odds. I'm pretty certain it's a call everytime but since it happened to me 4 or 5 times last night and I missed I wanted to make certain I wasn't missing anything.
zimmer4141 0
The call is fine here. You're getting 5-1 on your money here, and you should make 2 bets on the river if you hit. It's unlikely, but an A could be good.

Whatever 1
Here's why it's automatic:1.9 to 1 on the flush coming versus the pot giving me 5 to 1.

screech 0
You have a gutshot and an overcard, but I don't know where you're getting the 1.9 from. I'd give you 12 outs. It doesn't matter though, because this is an easy call with just the flus draw.
Whatever 1
LOL maybe that's why I stink at poker. The chart I'm looking at has 9 outs as 1.9 to 1 on the turn and 4.1 to 1 on the river.
Actuary 3
ok ok ok..we've established the trun call is clear.even the OP knew it, yet titled his post to reflect his uncertanily.I'd like ot once again suggest a new title:"Should I have Raised the flop"Yes. Raise this flop. Everyday.Who's with me?
Sysvr4 0
Who's with me?Not me. The last thing I want to do is put two cold to the field with A high on a draw. I'd rather have overcalls in this spot. Now, if I'm closing the action or 2-3 folks have already called, I raise it all day everyday for equity.Jeff
Bubba83 0
I agree with sysvr, I like calling the flop, and the turn also. Just curious let's say this happens:River: A:club: SB checks, BB bets, What's our line?

The chart I'm looking at has 9 outs as 1.9 to 1 on the turn and 4.1 to 1 on the river.Hey there!Just a pre-coffee guess, but watch out for those charts where the turn means WITH TWO CARDS TO COME. That can be useful sometimes, but I think comes up more for No Limit and all-in situations. If you are just considering the card you are paying to see, the odds on the turn are usually just a tiny, tiny bit worse than the river (cause it's, say 6 outs out of 47, instead of 6 out of 46 cards).Just my humble opinion, and saw a place to make a first post :shifty: Actually, I'd be interested to know if some of you Limit Players here use the w/2 cards to come odds, and in what situations? Right now, I just play Low/micro limit.Take Care,R
Guest Zach6668
FLOP - Call. Overcalls are good, you don't want to fold everyone in this case.TURN - Easy call as well.
Actuary 3
Who's with me?not sure I am.You might have misread action and thought SB lead and BB called, making a raise more for equity/free card/clearing Aces, pretty good.I see what you are saying though. You might gain a couple Ace outs, however, with the opportunity to build a big pot with a draw that wins almost always if it hits, yet hits only 35%, blowing the field out could be overkill.I don't hate a raise, and would love it in a 14 SB pot.....keep working and thinking Actuary, you'll be alright.
