I think you misunderstood me...I didn't mean did anyone in the hand raise preflop. I meant would anyone on the forum raise this preflop.

its borderline imo on whether to call/raise...ill mix it up depending on table...flop: 3 bet is easy decision

raise preflop, it's really not close, unless you ALWAYS have 4 callers after you when you limp.

I'm borderline with preflop action. A lot of micro tables will have you raise this and it will end up being a 4-5 way pot. If thats the case limp. If you think a raise can often get this heads up or vs 2 players then its an easy raise.Flop is an easy 3-bet. Almost always ahead and when you're behind you have plenty of outs to catch up.

For those that are saying don't raise pf if there's 4 callers behind you at all times, wasn't there a theory on this poker forum (propsed by sreech a couple months ago i think), saying even though you only hit ur set 1 in like 6.5, you can profitably raise all pocket pairs, even if those limpers are ahead of you, because what you lose in an equity edge you can make up in implied odds?I think people we're saying raise like 55 with 4 limpers ahead of you when ur on the bb.Does everyone not like this theory anymore?

I think you need to have at least 5 limpers to make this work.And the answer is, it depends.If your raise is more likley to get people to chase when they're drawing slim, or generate any other excessive action that a small pot wouldn't generate, then raising is best.If your opponetns still chase with crap and mindlessly throw in bets and raises with mediocre hands anyway, calling is best.The more I think about it, the more I think calling is best in most situations. That's because loose/passives will call down anyway, and weak/tight's will fold anwyay.So the only players I see this strategy working will against are TAG's or LAGs. In most situations, I think it is better to limp unless you're getting 7:1 on your raise.
