local B&M has a WSOP Super Satellite every sunday $30 buy. usually about 30-40 people on any given sunday.... Start with 1000 chips (this is where my problem begins i think) NL Holdem blinds start at 25-50 and increase every 15 minutes (50-100, 75-150, 100-200, so on). Players are generally loose calling stations and being in a college town there are always a few "i saw it on tv last nite" kids sititng down. (got beat today when i was short stacked blinds at 200-400, i catch AJo in the cut off seat (only one limper in) move all in for 900 and get one caller who turns over pocket 3s, coin flip he wins) i tend to be a pretty aggressive player in cash games but in these NL tournies i have problems... how do u go about getting chips when u cant catch any cards? in MP i raised preflop with AQs got one caller, flop came 9s 10s 3h caller moved all in and i mucked (never really seen the guy before) coulda called with 9 10 or maybe Ax spades i dont know any help would be appreciated

If ya don't get the cards, you can't win too many hands. Sure you can blind steal, maybe bluff one or two, but in the end the cards speak.Things to think about:1. Are you playing too tight (not seeing enough flops for cheap)? Eventually you will hit a flop you can bet hard on.2. Do you fold too readily, not playing into the turn/river for cheap (ie second pair, high pair low kicker, and you fold to a mid sized bet)3. Do you calculate pot odds to help you decide whether to see one more card, hoping for a flush or straight drawAlso, do you have any tells that tip people off that you may have missed the flop. If we are head to head, and the flop comes, and you sag your head, sigh or something like that (not in an acting way of course), my chips will be absolutely FLYING in the direction of the pot.Dev

I think the only way you can play these are very aggressively.Starting with only 20 big blinds and rounds that short mean that there's going to be a lot of luck involved. Playing very tight won't work certainly early on in the tournament. I'd be scanning my table for the tight players and trying to push them off hands when I think they've missed the flop.Go in with the attitude that you're either going to be out in the first half hour or be a serious contender.
