I didn't see the other one, so I'll respond to this one.I don't see too many hands that we can beat calling a bet on the river, nor do I see many hands that beat us folding to a bet either, so why bet? It's not a bluff, and it's not for value, so...it's the worst play in poker (a la Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson). 8)

I check the turn and bet the river. Don't play passively once you hit your hand. Hopefully they would raise with a jack on the flop. They would raise a set or 7s or 8s at some point on the flop or turn.

Rocket, this table seems very fishy, don't you think? three cold calls preflop, I'm going for value here. the pot is big, any pair will probably call.

yeah i didnt mean to post this twice...rocket, I think on the river we get called by worse K's and worse pairs often enough to make betting correct. However, if we get raised on the river I think we need to call a bet due to pot size, but I don't see what's raising us that we can beat. i think bet/fold line on the turn is best, any thoughts?

This is a very standard value bet. -We have the best hand a good amount of time-Read the other thread for my response on why its highly unlikely that anyone has a jack.-Pot is big so a variety of weak hands are calling. We are getting called by mid pocket pairs, 8's, 7's, Ace high sometimes, and worse kings.

[quote name='"RISEorFall" rocket' date=' I think on the river we get called by worse K's and worse pairs often enough to make betting correct.[/quote']You know, you probably do on this table. I wasn't thinking about the looseness pre-flop when making my thoughts on the river. Good value.

yeah, I'm not playing very high stakes. I'm a broke college kid with limited bankroll. The FCP .25/.50 and .50/$1 tables are soft as hell. I get called down by pocket 3's on a board of AKQxx a lot. I love it.

have you seen the players on pokerroom? this is an easy river bet, I've seen pots capped 3 ways on the river on a 444XX board with K high and 7 high.

I'd bet. Looks like they missed their draws, but you may get a bet from someone with a 7 or 8. Clearly they don't have a jack or trip 7s or 8s, as they'd have been betting to deter those drawing. If they have a K you have a good kicker. With AK they'd have raised pre-flop.
