The new Strokes is kind of working out to be like a Raise the Dead...I use it to flush out faggot posers who can't wait to declare popular indie bands "over."
I just remembered reading this, and I think I remember somebody else in this thread talking about hearing people talk about not liking the album, and it got a 5.9 in pitchfork, and I just can't comprehend any of that. I mean seriously, if you can listen to just the first two songs and not flail about dancing like a madman then you're just a piece of shit fagtron. I've listened to the album probably 10 times now and I love it even more each time. people are so stupid.also, the new fleet foxes is predictably great. and goblin has a few neat tunes on it but otherwise I don't really like listening to it. not much into the minimalist hip hop I guess. lets see, what else... oh yeah, both toro y moi and zonoscope have been rotating regularly throughout the ole' playlist. I'm sure you're all glad to know.

I feel like I really should be liking Goblin a lot more, but I can't get through more than 2 or 3 songs in a row without wanting to listen to something else.I do like Tyler, I can't say I really particularly like Goblin though.

Also been listening to Saigon - The Greatest story never told. It is pretty good. Though, considering how long it took to come out, I'm surprised at a few songs, which I would consider 'filler'. There are a few really outstanding tracks though, and overall, I really enjoy the album.

Lately I've been listening to the Velvet Underground (the Quine tapes), and early Talking Heads. Oh and J. Rocc's new and first-ever album, 'Some Cold Rock Stuf' [sic]. It's pretty cool, but it's not really excitingly new. Reminds me a lot of Entroducing....

Hilariously, the very next line after the part I quoted is, Niggas is still hatin' Talkin' that Nas done fell off with rhymin'If you made that joke on purpose, nice. If you didn't, you should obviously just pretend that you did.

Kashiwa Daisuke has a new album coming out later this year, and he's released a free single.Friendly warning: clicking this link starts a direct download of the (zipped) mp3. It's only like 4 megs though. And here is a link with few details of the album: http://www.virgin-ba.../music_013.html
