I'm looking forward to this power hour talk. I've been batting around the idea of making a power hour mix for a while. Also: Listening to Marnie Stern and Hercules And Love Affair today.

Yeah I thought so, too, but it was just horrible. You know how Power Hours kinda suck because you're drinking 90oz. of carbonated alcohol and large gulps of oxygen in an hour? Well, imagine doing that except you don't even get the light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel I'm-not-as-drunk-as-I'm-acting inebriation. I finally got around to listening to MGMT. I downloaded it a long time ago, and it finally caught my ear on my iTunes shuffle. Anyway, what the hell is going on with the production? It's like whoever was at the controls cleaned it all up, made it nice and glossy, then put it through a fucking woodchipper or something. "Sorry, this baseball is simply too white. Gotta scuff it up a little." I think it's an awesome sound.I really like "Kids" and "Time to Pretend," but I've only listened to the album a few times and it seems like those are probably the most singley/accessible tracks, and I'm always drawn to songs with good hooks first. Though I've never really hidden it, I think I'm just a fan of pop music at heart. I just love a badass keyboard loop or a sweet guitar hook. Gimme a catchy chorus and I'm going to roll the windows down and pretend I'm driving as the camera pans back during the closing credits.I hope everyone is well.
weekend wars is a good songim litstening to prokofievs piano concertos 1,4, and 5 and theyre really great

I was in a liquor store with mojo tonight. she outwitted me and convinced me not to buy sam adams winter lager due to it still being october. I went to another liquor store and bought it to avoid the shame with the staff.REGARDLESS. winter starts (in jeff-land) on nov. 1. let's get a winter mix started on that date. I'll submit the first track on that day... you can all fall in line or be a bunch of joannas. it's your choice.
YOU'D BETTER NOT DRINK THAT STUFF TIL NOV 1. IF YOU ARE DRINKING IT NOW... I HATE YOU.Just kidding, you're still my homenig. Save me a lay-ger. I would like to help with the winter mix. Are Christmas songs allowed? I've got some great Bing Crosby.
We are all so complicated, and then we die. We are a subject one day, with our vanities, our loves, our worries, and then one day, abruptly, we become nothing but an object, an absolutely disgusting pile of shit. We pass very quickly from one stage to the next. It's very bizarre. It will happen to all of us, and fairly soon too. We become an object you can handle like a stone, but a stone that was someone.

Homenig is a term of endearment I use for my beloved ones - my mother, my boyfriend, cats I see on the street, and suchlike. It's not a racial slur, it's affectionate.

Oddly, no. They not even a metal band. It's just light, sort of classic rock.

Well, I was kind of kidding, since it was "peace love and death metal" it sounds the exact opposite of brutal.

I figured you were just making fun of the fagginess of what you figured was an ironic Death Metal album name.

yeah, in the DN blog thing. .apparently, John McCain has gone on record as saying that he hates gooks, and when asked if he'd like to retracted it, he said no, that the men who held him captives were gooks, and he would always hate them. EDIT I guess the thread is called " I hate the gooks" but it was John McCain that hates them..http://www.fullconta...howtopic=129979

Well, I was more making fun of the likely hardness of the Death metal of a band that would have a faggy ironic name. Now, that I know it's not even metal, it makes me want to kick all of the band members in the junk for calling it that.

I'm suddenly sold. Like...how Chris Rock like black people, but hate nigger, because every time a black person tries to have a good time, a nigger shows up to ruin it.

Exactly, but instead, it's like, anytime a white guy tries to have a good time, a Gook has to shoot him down and torture him for 7 years.
