the hand i lost my entire bankroll on..

Recommended Posts

This isn't really an informative post, so much as my thank you, to you guys. This is my 2000th post, and I know we're all supposed to do something cool on our 2000th post. Honestly, you guys are great here. Scott, TJ, Merby (When you're around), David_N, Smash (When he pops his head in), and the rest of you, you guys really help me improve my game. So, I wanted to thank you. I hope to return to posting more hands, more advice and more "articles" now that school's back in and I'll be forced to find a distraction.Sadly, :) , I really kinda care about this section, and you guys make it at least appear to be a worthwhile endeavor. So, with that, this is the hand I went broke on. Went down to Kansas City with all $1500 of my bankroll in my pocket to play some 5/10 NL. I've come a little ways since then--thanks to you guys. It's a bad beat, but, I'm not looking for a critique, more of a cleansing. I just like to get it out. :) 5/10 NL LiveHero; 1900Villain A; 2700Villain B; 2200.Hero is MP+3 with K :) J :) Villain A is CO, Villain B is Button.Folds to Hero, Hero bets 40, CO and Button both come along. Pot= $120Flop; A :) 5 :) 2 :club: Hero checks, Villain A bets 150, Villain B calls, Hero calls. Pot = 570Turn; 6 :D Hero bets 500, Villain A pushes all in, Villain B folds, Hero calls. River; 4 :D Villain shows; Q3 :D ; Straight flush.Hero shows; KJ :) ; a pained look and suicidal tendencies. :) Thanks a lot though, guys.

Awww shucks! Thanks DrawingDead. Sorry I haven't been around lately, I went back to Winnipeg over the holidays to visit family, and was too preoccupied with the visit to play any poker (or check out the forum...) I should be around again now that I am back to the grind and need a distraction...Wow that's a shiitty story... Losing an entire bankroll to one hand (that was a one-outter, no less...) I'm glad you reconsidered your suicide options: you still owe me $47 (just kidding) I have gone broke before... just never in one hand (ouch!)Cheers,Merby

ouch...one of the craziest hands i've ever played was over the summer. It was 5 handed, limit hold em'.Basically, what happened was the perfect river card.I hit the nutflush with AQd, other guy hit the 2nd nut flush with Kxd and the third player in the hand hit the straight flush. This was all on the river, so it was 3 diamonds on board, it wasn't one of those obvious, oh shit, he probably has the striaght flush (4 to a flush boareds)...it was insane. I guess it was harder for me to believe cause it was 5 max....lol.- Jordan

I suggest you stay away from K(facecard) suited in :club: 'sI seem to remember you losing with your flopped king high flush to a straight flush on the turn not to long ago when we were playing with me.JS :D
Haha..but that was for one buy in. Not me trying to be a hero.
Bad beat forum.. jk That's a rough one and its even crappier that it was your whole bankroll. Happy 2000th post. How long ago did this hand occur?
Last April..right after I turned 21. Thought I had it all figured out, had made some money at the smaller games and thought I was gonna "make it".

Yeah, well, make it a point to get here once in awhile. Thanks to the rest of ya..and yeah, I have learned what "bankroll management" is. Now you know why I get so animated when people talk about "taking a shot". :D
