hold 'em for advanced players

Recommended Posts

What do you guys think of this book? Who has read it?I guess I'm just looking for some thoughts as to what limits you think the stradegy in this book takes over and replaces some of the concepts in SSHE...I know some concepts are going to be paralleled but at what levels would you incorporate the more advanced concepts from this book?Would you consider this book an essential read for 10/20 ?

i'm slowly working my way through the book, and i've already found some good stuffi'd say it is worth reading after enough experience at any limit, that way you'll have some idea when to make the "advanced" plays and when to do the SSHE dance.i would definitely read it before 10/20 play. it is geared at tight games, where there are typically 2 or 3 players to a flop. but its tactics can be useful against tags at any level, if applied at the right times.btw, you can get this book for free if you have enough FT or UB points.

The book is on my shelf next to SSHE and TOP for a reason. Don't think of any one book as the holy grail of poker books. Think of all three books together as the trinity of hold 'em preparation. Soft games (SSHE), tougher games (HEFAP), and poker in general (TOP).

Haha well said, I like the analogy.

In my mind, TOP is God, HEFAP is Jesus, and SSHE is the Holy Ghost.Jesus rules.
