Sorry, no time to convert. So yesterday the guy next to me spends half an hour complaining aboutnot getting any cards, he's an old Asian dude. I get 88 in lateposition. I call, Old Asian says OK, i justcall. 6 see the flop 8c Qd Jc. Tight lady bets 35 into a 60 dollar pot, foldfold I raise to 135. Old asian says I'm all in. $500 more. Tightlady thinks, folds. I ?

I'm fuzzy on the preflop action. Did the Tight lady raise to $10? Are you playing 1/2 or 2/5?

I call, don't outhink yourself, two many range of hands such as AQ KQ, or QJ, he'd make the move with, then again folding is never a bad move.

Well, I said I made the wrong play. Is it better to call if he's got the straight/JJ or fold if he's got QJ or KQ? Regardless, I folded and he showed KQ. I didn't think he could make that play with a tight lady betting and me raising without 910. Oh well.

well, we do have some reads to think about here.i'm assuming that since he is bitching about a lack of cards, hes relatively tight?? is 9 T in his range? Also, his frustration would make me more inclined to call.

5/10 nl. 4 limpers, blinds = 60
In that case, I 'm not worried about a bigger set. We have outs against T9. Full speed ahead.

It ever come to mind that hes overplaying something decent because hes bored and overanxious to take down a big pot. Dont fold sets on pretty nonthreatening boards.Lets also note that vs 910 our set is about 34% to win. So we need a little less then 2:1 if we are positive we are up against 910 every time.Their is 365 + his 500 bet in the pot so we are getting 1.73:1 on a call. So you better be pretty damn sure that he has 910 in order to fold.

Exactly my thoughts. Plus, the comment "I'll just call..." Doesn't sound like the kind of thing 9 10 says. A tight player waiting for cards would not "just call" w/ QQ or JJ in MLP w/ limpers, so I've got him off of that. I'd have him on AQ or KQ / KQ s so fast. And, like the above posters say, in the chance that the read is just dead wrong and he does have 9 10, you've got outs.

hard to say without being there... but...my guess is that hes irritated that hes not getting any cards, hes frustrated and he wants some action on a draw and hoping to hit? get his "prosperity" back as they say lol.also if he reckons his cards are cold ide think hed want to maximise his monster hand by slow playing it as this is a once off time that he has anything to play with

I know how these tight asian players are. I probably would have folded as well. But I agree with the other players that the fact that he says I'll just call shows that he's got a better hand than 9 10 and also the fact that he's frustrated makes him more inclined to make that move with top pair.

You know what's really interesting about flopping a set? There's only one situation I can think of when we're dead. We have KK.Villain has AKFlop; AAK This is not one of those situations and it's not even close. If this guy is that frustrated he's pushing top pair, top two, maybe an over pair. Don't lay down sets on boards like this, please? Don't give him credit for T9. Even if he does, we've got plenty of outs.
