LPY2005 0
FCP 1-2 limit 9 handed.Sorry, there is no hand history available so I will try to do it from memory and keep it simple.Hero on BB with K2 Folded to MP who raises. Folded to hero who calls. 2 players.Flop is 972 rainbow. Hero bets (I was hoping that villian has Ax and still has nothing more than A high) villian raises, hero calls. (here I didn't think my 2's where good anymore, but still seen a lot of people take AK to the river unimproved, so I was going to re-evaluate after the turn)Turn is K. I bet, villian raises ("good" I think as I put villian on AK), I reraise, villian calls.River is a 2. I have no reason to believe that the villian won't raise, so I bet, villian raises, I reraise, villian calls. (Since betting wasn't capped on either the turn or the river I'm pretty sure that my full house is good)Is this play and thought process flawed? Is my preflop call loose even though I'm getting odds against everything but AA or KK? Is it stupid to bet into a board with bottom pair against a preflop raiser even if you only have one opponent?I don't play much limit, so I want to get into the mind of a limit player. quadaces 0
I think its a good play. He probably has AK which is what you hope for, or he could have 99 or 77 which you are dead but since he didnt cap any round he most likely doesn't. What did he end up having? How many times did he call you a DONK for calling his raise with K2?
LPY2005 0
I'll post results after a few more replies.
Canada 0
nhonly things that change are the lead or c/r on the flop and turn and these are opponent (and suit) dependant. With what looks like an aggressive player I like your line
Actuary 3
I c/r the turn.Otherwise I'd play it the sameThat flop misses a lot of hands and you may pick up the 4 SB's right there.Easy call on his flop raise.*** read replies ****was there a on the flop?

I don't know why I didn't, maybe was scared the board would pair and didn't want to give a free card in case he checked. I should have though. I was pretty sure he was going to bet.I thought my pre-flop call and flop bet was correct. Wasn't sure about the flop raise call. Thanks. One on the flop. I don't even consider the back door flush draw at this point. Should I?
Actuary 3
leading the turn becomes more correct (if not already, I'm just saying c/r is what I would do given the preflop and flop action) if the board now has a Flush draw on it (non-spade). Although it's highly coincidental that the opponent would be on that draw, one, and two, check behind. As it turned out, he raised anyway and you got 3 bets in!Spade on Flop just makes your bet out on flop slightly more correct, as you have 1.5 more outs to call a riase with. Not consequential though. the two pair and trip outs are enoughI could be all wet

How many times did he call you a DONK for calling his raise with K2?Villian had AA and proceeded to call me retard for the rest of the session. Everyone at the table told him to stop his whining, but that didn't discourage him. I told him that I had put him on AK and thought I had odds preflop from the BB and had him beat on the flop. Then he whined about someone with 2's betting into someone with A's and how he was this huge favorite. Sure he was, I got lucky and was leading on both the expensive streets. Next time all he has to do is tell me that he's raising preflop with AA and I'll fold my K2. It didn't phase me, but I just wanted confirmation from the guys here that play a lot more limit than I do.Like he's the only one that ever had aces busted. Actuary 3
I have a lot of trouble resisting "educating" others when they start accusing me. I want so badly to say "hey, any two will do""I was pot committed"but hate to look like an idiot, even though no one knows me!just better to not say anything, unless you get the nerve to say one of the above lines or a better one , that makes you sound even more retarded!K2s getting 3.5 : 1 OOP against a (likely) non steal (albeit an open, thus could be worse hand that Raiser after limper(s) ) is loose call preflop. But we assume you paly good post flop!nh!
LPY2005 0
I definitely wouldn't say I play well post flop. The fact is I play a lot of no-limit and I haven't played enough limit to say for sure. Let's just say it's to be determined. I'm guessing it can still use a lot of improvement. Thanks

Then see for yourself under what conditions playing various hands is +EV. Even the borderline losers can help your table image as "that nut who calls with K2". Others will tell you to tighten up, blah.
pokerkid 0
anyone c/r the flop here?Obviously against AA this would be horrible, but against an MP2 open raise, I think we gain alot of FE with a c/r on this flop.

I'm just trying to be a more rounded player, so am making a point to change the type of poker every session. I wouldn't mind entering some HORSE tournaments.
