SB is 14/9/1.85 - 180 handsUTG is 42/17/1.22 - only 20 hands or soMP1 is 31/0/0.58 - 50 handsParty Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cxPreflop: Hero is MP2 with Q:diamond:, J:heart:. UTG calls, 1 fold, UTG calls, MP1 calls, Hero calls.Flop: (9 SB) 7:heart:, A:diamond:, J:diamond: (5 players)SB checks, UTG checks, MP1 checks, Hero checks.Turn: (4.50 BB) 8:heart: (5 players)SB bets, UTG calls, MP1 calls, Hero ???I think I played pre-flop and flop ok, but feel free to comment on those as well. Incidentally, the only reason I didn't bet the flop is that I suspected that SB might be going for a check/raise.

People who normally raise out of the blinds, generally have a very strong hand. He probably has 3 hands, JJ, AA, or KK.

WTF does this have to do with anything??

SB raised preflop.I'm inclined to give him credit for a decent holding, at least.

All of these hands are beating you. So its a no brainer fold on the turn. Sorry for not going more in depth.

That's what I was looking for from you. I put SB on a strong hand as well, and I didn't mean to be a jerk, just looking for you to explain your reasoning. Incidentally, he had KK, and I would have rivered a Q for two pair. I don't think I really had odds to call though, especially with some of my outs being dirty.

what about the preflop
Yeah, I never play QJ, unless I'm in the CO or on the button. It's definitely worth raising first-in with from there.I raise from the Hijack, too, if the table's playing tight. Maybe even from MP2, first in, at a tight table.Limping after a limper is just... blach...

i actually don't hate that flop check, which i initially did.i think you can put SB on a very strong hand here. all we are beating is 10-10 and QK, and we can't be certain he'd raise out of the blinds with those.if you were anywhere except the button, i think the flop check is poor, since you can easily represent an ace, and he obviously is afraid of an ace. but on the button, your bet will get very little respect, and you probably won't win without a showdown. i would probably bet the flop with the intention of either checking the turn, or betting the turn and checking behind the river. if i check the turn though, i have a difficult river decision if he bets.i really don't know if either of these ways are better than checking the flop and folding the turn UI, and they very well couldn't be.so basically, i fold preflop, but otherwise i don't hate the way you played it, even though it looks ugly.

I'd bet the flopAnd be glad SB c/r. Maybe we get it HU.Only cost us 2 BB to show down. Not betting the Ace is odd.As a pfr'er SB cant expect the bet to come, so I give him much lesss credit for an Ace here. KK/QQ maybe. His stats show he plays scared.I'd call turn. But fold River UI, if I'm overcallnig*** read replies ***uh..yeah... my bad..SB tight stats, we aren't good often enough here. For me to limp with QJo from MP2 after just 2 others, the players behind better be passive.
