Always bet like you've got a pair.

Hero is BB and OOP post-flop. I'm taking the lead here and betting most flops unless my read is that villan is only likely to raise with an overpair from UTG, in which case why am I calling getting 4 to 1 hoping for an 8 to 1 flop?Without reads I assume that I'm better off taking the lead here preflop, if he caps then I have a better idea how to play the rest of the hand.good luck.

well you lead obviously, and you know if you check and he bets you call, but if you bet and he raises now what? if you bet he may think you have straight and fold but if he has that king he wont and will either see through your crap and call mayhaps even raise and there you go losing two bets instead of one. check maybe he bets, but what are you gonna do fold? course not.so given those are the options, check call would be the move. he may have Ax suited and paired the second or third button on the flop. if he has a king he probably would have represented on the turn. I check call.edit:Just realize what is going on now. we are at the turn. had responded so quickly hadn't realized the 7
was the turn card. well in this case, lead out with a bet. and go from there.if he's gonna raise it's gonna be representing the King and not a second or third button off the flop and if your style is to keep looking down the river for your set, than do it, otherwise give him the bennie of the doubt and fold to a raise on the turn. if he just calls than you have to see what the river brings.
I believe it was Socrates who said, "I drank what?"

I don't mind the call pf at all. I do this a lot with the intention of c/ring most flops, which sure was your plan here. When I guy with these stats checks behind on this flop, it means he either has a monster, or his dog hit the check button. I think this player will rarely check behind because he's afraid you have him beat.I would check this turn, and I really want to fold to a bet. I'd probably call though and folding the river UI. This is better then betting the turn IMO, because we get to see the next card. The only thing betting does is give us peice of mind. Check/folding this turn best, but it's very hard to do.
