I'm playing today at pokerroom's .50/1 NL table and this came up:Im 3rd position with $50 and I get queens at a semi loose table. first position raises to 2 and I reraise to $4 it folds all the way to the button who is a wierd player, he calls and the BB moves all in with $10, now the first guy calls so the pot is 28 and I believed that the button would fold since that is how he had been playing .. so I call the $6 then the button moves all in for 20 more, the early position calls but still has like 15 left. Now I know my queens are no good against the button's aces. (I actually write in the chat that im laying down q' s cuz the other dude has aces) so all in all the pot was. about 74 dlrs ..and it was 20 for me to call ..which would leave me with about 20 more and Im sure I wont lay down q's on the flop to a 94 dlr pot unless it comes AAK or something. So I lay it down , and the cards flip .. early position has k's button has A's and the BB has AK..then the flop comes blank, blank Q!!, blank blank...soo i wouldve won biig..anyway after thinking this through I think I made a good laydown, even though i wouldve won. the thing I dont know is if the pot was so big that maybe it was worth the call?? Im also thinking i might have saved myself 6 bucks and folded when the bb moved all in.. but in these tables I see so many crazy things like people moving in w/ 10's or AK ..that I tthought it might be worth the $6,anyway It felt like crap after the flop came ,, but was it still a good laydown?

well with the $74 in the pot you were nearly getting the 4-1 you would've needed, I dunno kinda a coin flip on calling or folding with that big of a pot. Not really sure which way to go, probably the fold because you weren't getting the full 4-1

That's really hard to read. Was everyone all in?Becuase if you still had somebody to play with, your implied odds make up for it. Otherwise, tough but correct fold.

pot was way too big to fold there... you were getting odds to hit a set.

It was $74-20...or 3.7-1.AAvsKK or AAvsQQ is 4-1. You're not getting the odds to draw to a set. If you have implied odds, you can cover the 0.3....if you don't have the IO, you can't.

As much as I woulda of liked to be in this position....pot odds keep you in. Also....dont tell them you laying down QQ....then they know you will lay down big hands with a couple all in. Had a hand similar to it....EP raise 3xBB, I re-raised...another called(btw I had QQ) BB moves all-in, EP calls...I fold, the other guy folds(I was surprised by his fold).....BB when with....J9 when a 9 hit the flop, my QQ woulda hel up...I askedhim why he moved uin he said the amatuer answer....because it was sooooooooooooted

pot odds don't keep you in, you aren't getting 4-1 and without the knowledge of any imlied odds you can't make this a +ev play with $74 in the pot when you need 4-1 to call, so you would need another $6 in the pot to make this a winning play, if there is more money to win this is where the implied odds come in, then it can be a winning play because of that. Alone it is a good fold pot odds certainly don't dictate a call here by themselves
