I'm just an Avs fan looking for a goaltender, but I did notice as Buffalo lit up Abby and then watched a great game the other night with Buffalo beating Philly in OT that the Sabres may be the most underrated team in the NHL. Hey Ottawa can light up anyone so throw those games out. Buffalo's leading scorer... Tim Connolly and he is a +5. So what do you guys out East think?I'm sure there are a lot of smaller variables Team USA has to look at like left wing/right wing and all that, but a young up and coming hungry player with the stats to back it up seems like the direction to go.

I'm a lifelong Sabres fan, and I'd love to see the Olympics stocked with as many Sabres as possible, but Tim Connolly isn't one of the guys I would want on Team USA.He's an extremely streaky player who fails to show up for some games, and even excepting that fact, he's less talented of a Center than the guys ultimately picked for the team:Craig Conroy, Mike Modano, Chris Drury, and Scott Gomez are the Centers selected for the team, and there's no way I would have taken Timmy over any of them. He's a fast kid with good moves, but he has tendencies of being selfish with the puck and thinking that his skills are better than they are, which leads to turnovers and odd-man rushes on a regular basis. In the Olympics, playing against the cream of the crop nearly every night, turnovers will tell the story, you just can't have them. The only true value I could see for Connolly on Team USA would be in shootout situations, and the team already selected Brian Gionta and Jason Blake who are quickly becoming shootout specialists.

Tim Connolly is finally healthy enough to show some of the skill he has, but I don't think he deserves to crack this lineup at centre.

I also think Connelly should have made the team. But, I also think that Ryan Miller should have made it also. He is a better player than Esche and Graham right now, and he will only get better. The Sabres might be the 2nd best team in the East.

I would have absolutely taken Ryan Miller over Robert Esche, but it wasn't my call...Connelly, no way.

If Miller didn't get hurt you have to figure he would have made it. In the grand scheme of things, I dont think it matters. Dipietro and Grahame are the logical 1-2 goalies, IMO.
