What's the math here??? We've got to risk $300 to win what, approx. $800??? I don't know what hands we're beating here except for QQ, JJ and 10 10, but for some odd reason I feel compelled to call.

Many players like to slowplay sets, so if the villian did have 99 he might have played it just this way. Though, if this player is wk/passive he might have called the reraise with a KQ or even KJ. There is a slight possibility you two have the same hand, though I hate making that read because it is very unlikely. If the player is a solid player, you could lay this hand down only because of the telegraphed possibility of a set, but if you have seen him call raises with trap hands like KQ or KJ this is a pretty easy call. This is a very tough situation you've ended up in and I can't say I don't like your play up until the turn. I might call in frustration that the plight of TPTK continues, but with a solid player the right move is to lay this down.

I think we've run into a set here more times than not. Maybe AK or AA. I think KK raises on the flop here because he doesn't wanna see an Ace pop. Unless you've been playing fairly LAG at this table, I think you have to lay it down.

The problem we have here is that the pot is so big right now b/c of our pf reraise and the cont bet. This is an arguement for a callBUT, WTF are we beating here?Smells like a set o 9's to me but I'm probably calling bc of the size of the pot

So, I'm kind of an ass.I intentionally left out reads and I made the Topic one that would lead you to believe that this was a negative result or a poor play. Here's the background.The Villain is a complete donk. Not even a donk, a mentally deficient waste of space. He called off 400 on this board; KJ3 all hearts, with AQ , announcing "I'm on the draw." The other player flipped over A K and was waaaay ahead. Until a black 10 peeled off on the river. He also called a preflop all in for 120 with T9 against a pair of Aces, because he had a feeling.I wanted to isolate him with my preflop re-raise. I was fairly certain I could get him to call and get his chips in with the worst of it.I knew he was very well capable of overplaying Ax KQ, KJ, QJ. His call on the flop really threw me for a loop. I was fairly certain I still had the best hand, but I had no real clue about his or what kind of draw he was on. When he pushed, I called instantaneously. He would've busted his arm getting his chips in on the flop if he had a set. He had two moves, "Call" and "All In". He'd even put his sunglasses on after he CALLED AN ALL IN IN A HEADS UP POT.When he flipped his cards face up, he said, "Two pair." I about stroked. Then I looked again and saw he in fact had, KQ.This is a situation where I thought it was approriate to re-raise with AK. If it's a solid player, I smooth call. I probably lay it down on the turn even hitting a king against a solid player in a smaller pot.There aren't many situations I re-raise AK, but the 2/5 game is a great deal different than your average .5/1.

I have no idea. I don't know if he really thought he had two pair or if he was fucing around. I've seen him make some unimaginable calls with 2 and 3 outers. He comes up to the "Big City" from his farm just for the rush, I Guess. He plays a lot of craps and poker's kind of his wind down.
