FOOSE1 0
Alright I need help from all you poker playin' computer geeks out there. I need a new computer and need some advice on what specs to look for. Here's the deal . . . I play between 20-25 hours per week. I do pretty well but my problem is that I can not multi-table. When I try my computer just basically freezes up every 2 minutes and then I turn into the guy that everyone hates at the table that is delaying the game. I am running DSL so I know my problem is my computer . . . it is ancient (about 7 years old). I have been looking at a Dell 8400. It looks like a pretty good deal but I really don't know what to get since I will be basically using the computer to play poker, surf the net and check/send email . . . that's it. Any suggestions on what I need to look for. I just would like to multi-table without any delays. Thanks!
fryer98 30
Not close to a computer geek, but I'll suggest to look on Dell.com in the refurbished section. I got a REAL good deal on one through there.
sbrenner 0
If all you are doing is online poker, web, email, etc., and no gaming, that 8400 wil do you fine. One comment though, it comes with a 17" flat panel and I think you will need a monitor resolution of at least 1600x1200 to play 4 tables at a time. I think a 17" only does 1280x1024 if I remember correctly, so you might want to see about a 20" that will do 1600x1200.-Scott
FOOSE1 0
Thanks Scott - I was wondering about that - I had already upgraded to a 19" flat panel but wasn't sure if I could 4-table on that or not.
