I've been playing online now for approx 2 months. Started out by winning afreeroll on Pokerroom and have been hooked since. Moved over to Absoluteand was doing quite well. I was up 400.00 playing 1/2 limit. Then mylosing streak started a week and a half ago. Now I'm in the hole about300.00The thing that really confuses me is that I did not change my style of play.I'm not "suddenly" going fishing. Occasionally I'll go looking for the 5thcard to complete my flush, but nothing that would constitute losing 700 in aweek and a bit.So, am I a fish, or is this something I should just keep trying to workthrough. I love the game, but at the same time, don't want to keep losingmoney at it. Any tips/suggestions other than taking up basket weaving??BBF

It quite possibly could have been beginners luck but I don't know for your situation. I was up 400.00 playing 1/2 limit. Then my losing streak started a week and a half ago. Now I'm in the hole about 300.00 Did you keep playing the same limit even after the loosing streak started? Were you even playing within your bankroll to begin with? This is the type of information you need to say so people on this forum can figure out where you went wrong and hope to help improve whatever leak or leaks it is you have in your game.Any tips/suggestions other than taking up basket weaving?? Isn't it referred to as "underwater basket weaving?
Only after you have lost everything, are you free to do anything.

What was your bankroll? If you were playing 1/2 then it should have been at least 600 bucks, but if you lost all that and more, then perhaps you have some major leaks in your game and were just on a good run when you first started. But you haven't really given us any information to tell you much, and you may not really have much information to give since you probably have only played a small sample of hands.

How often do you play against the same people? Is it possible some of them are exploiting a particular weakness?Do you often multi table? Have you changed the time of day you typicaly play? Have you even caught yourself saying "well I'll play these cards just this once"?I know when I get up a bit, I had a tendancy to get cocky and just assume the cards are coming for me, causing me to overplay some hands. When I'm running bad I sometimes get gunshy, afraid to put money in the pot which costs me bets (or enitre pots).

What you are thinking of is "underwater fire-fighting" :-)

In answer to some of the questions. For Alcatraz:I normally play the same times...about 45 mins before going to work...when I come home at lunch-time for about another 45 mins, and then after work for 3-4 hours. I don't see alot of the same players, so I don't think the exploitation of a weakness is the problem, to be honest.I do multi-table, but never more than two tables at a time. One table is usually the 1-2 limit, whereas the second table is a 10+1 SNG. Yes, and moreso as of late I find myself saying "I'll play these cards". But in all honesty it isn't rags I'll play like a 72os, but more like K7os or cards of the like. For Wilderness: I realize now I was most likely playing above my bankroll. I posted this same question at RGP and that was the general concensus there. For Allin: Yes, looking back with great regret, I did stay at the 1/2 limit. (Occasionally dropped to the 50/1, but always went back) hoping to gain my losses back. Surprise surprise it never happened.I have been told that I should stick at the 50/1 tables for a while, read Lee Jones Winning Low Limit and see how I do there before making any rash decisions to quit. All comments received are extremely appreciated, and look forward to more.Cheers,BBF
