What's the best strategy when you're in the final 2 of a sit'n go and the blinds are like the third of your stack ? Suppose both of you have about the same stack. Do you go all-in on every hand ?I think those high blinds are stupid since they kill the heads-up part of the sit'n go. Any thoughts ?Thanks

As always, "It depends". Here's some of the factors:Who do you think is the better player? How aggressive is postflop play, and what is the standard bet (1/2 pot, pot, etc)?Is your opponent chopping you out with preflop all-ins?Can your opponent be trapped? Will your opponent trap? However, headsup I continue to use the 10xBB rule: if I have more, I can play a hand out. If I do not, it's all going in preflop. If he's better than you, push or fold.If pot-size bets are standard, obey the 10x bb rule, or extend it to 15x bb for push or fold timeif the opponent traps a lot, try to play it out when you have the BB. If not, come over the top of weakness shown by the SB.If your opponent overplays hands, try to put in a weak bet preflop to trap him.If he's going "all-in or fold" chop back at him when you have a chance to open.If you both have 3x BB, well, it's a crapshoot. good luck. There's more, too, but I don't know it well enough to share...

But I mean should I fold to a raise all-in something like 3-8 off if I posted the BB 2000 and I have 4000 remaining ?

Here is a little trick I've successfully applied in S&G (low stakes so far).Final two - blinds are 500/1000 or above.I am on the button - I have J
2
- not the most powerful hand, but playable head to head. Instead of all in, I love to raise. If Im dealer, I raise his call if he just calls me (means he probably doen't have a strong hand or he'd have gone all in). In more than a few instances, it was enough for him to pause and fold, if he is a tight player, or an inexperienced one. Payed for quite a few blinds and let me sit tight until the ladies (Q
Q
) arrived, and I was all in. In these examples (I had a good read on my opponent), I didn't have to risk an All-In when I didn't have the premium hand.I even nailed 4 Qs that hand . . to his Ace high. I do love, when I do win, winning in style. :)Dev

I don't think the blinds should go up once it gets heads-up. Maybe a little, but it's stupid to know the blinds dictate who will win. Yes, call with 38 offsuit when you've put in 1/3 of your stack already. Even the crappiest hand usually has a 33% chance of winning.

The sit n goes get pretty crappy at the end. The should either increase the blinds by time and not #hands, or cap the blinds at like 300/600 or something. WIth the every 10 hand system, when it gets shorthanded the blinds go up way to fast, and they are usually too high by that time anyway. I just hope one day they cap the blinds so you have a chance to play poker.

They won't cap the blinds; there's too much money to be made from the quick turnover rate.I like UB's set-up. It's timed, not based on number hands, and naturally you get far more hands in heads up under this structure before the blinds skyrocket.

If you're playing at a site that the blinds increase every ten hands I'd seriously consider other sites. There are too many with much better structures to continue the crapshoots at the end (Party Poker).
