Now i know everyone has layed down the best hand at least once,, but what would you do in these types of situations.. loose table .50/1 it comes AK both hearts to me under the gun. I raise and I get 5 callers.. the flop comes 10/c ,j/c, q/s I raise and I get 3 calls the turn is a blank I raise and I get 2 calls and the river comes a club..now I check and it goes raise and re raise I knooow Im screwed but when else will I flop a nut str8 into a 15 or so dlr pot...its 2 dlrs to me and im getting about 8 to 1 to call..do I or do I look at it in the point of view of I should save my 2 BB and keep playing? It happened to me again later today when I was right on my read about another players full house but I just couldnt lay down my ace high flush.. I cant seem to do these big laydowns, any suggestions? I know it seems kind of obvious to suggest just let it go..but how do I know for sure that Im not losing a huge pot w/ the best hand?

If the pot is big enough, you only have to have the best hand a small percentage of the time to make it correct to call. However, if the pot is small (obviously the first case with AK was an easy call) you can let it go. And it should be easy. Think: "The pot's not big enough, I can let this go and not cry if I had the best hand." But if you are in a huge pot, you will most definately cry if you fold the best hand and a weeker hand drags a 30bb pot.
