I have a really rich uncle and at our family Xmas I'm considering asking him to stake me for the WSOP main event as well as a couple other smaller events. Flame away. But what I really want to know is that if such a deal is reached, what would be an appropriate split up of any money earned? 50/50? 25/75?

unless hes a real cool guy and plays poker himself, i doubt he will do it. Family members that dont understand the game still think its totally gambling

Yeah...but I plan on marketing it as "an investment opportunity." I don't plan on paying him back, but that's only because he's a millionaire and $15k is pocket change.

In that case, I'd probably give him everything up to the initial 10K stake and somewhere between 65-70% after that.Of course, I'll admit I'm talking out of my ass here.

If you think you are that good, then have him stake you 10K and go to work on the $500 buy-in NL tables. You probably have a better chance of beating the $500 buyin NL tables for good money than you do hitting it big in the WSOP.

If he were to stake you 10K then I think it should work like this:If you cash, you pay him back the 10K and then you split whatever money you have over the 10K 50/50.
Only mediocre players are always at their best.

If you are as annoying in real life as you are here he'll probably give you the 15K to just leave the family and go away! Hey, speaking of that...FCP'ers would probably donate to get you to leave too!!!!Thoughts??

if he's that rich just ask him to give you the 9M top prize. replay victory in your head.

Anything you make over the original buy ins is paid back 75% to him and 25% for yourself. For pros normally they get a full stake into tourneys at a 50/50 level but of course since you're not at the level of pros you cant expect that type of arrangement.

 I'd imagine that he didn't become a millionaire by making "investments" like these.

did you really just make this topic to ask if you should split it 50/50 or 25/75? or is this just another cry for attention?
