First hand at a .25/.25 NL table sat with $25, I post from under the gun, one caller behind me. SB raises the minumun to .50, BB calls, I call, caller behind me calls. I have Q9o.Flop comes Q 9 5 two clubs. SB bets $1, BB calls, I raise to $3.50, caller behind folds SB raises to $8, BB folds. Honestly at this moment I know he has a big queen, or Kings, or Aces all of which I'm in control of. I go all in, he calls, running twos and his Kings/deuces scoop the pot. I couldn't have played this any other way, could I?It's just frustrating to know I have the best hand, get it all in the middle, just like I want..and lose. Suppose I have to work on controlling my emotions, but this kind of thing just makes me sick. It's not the 25 bucks, big deal, it's playing the best I can in that spot, and losing. Or is there something I could have done better?CheersD

I don't think so.It's just the disadvantage of playing against an over pair. He's drawing to a 5, K, or after the turn, a 2.I don't know what else you could've possibly done.
I'm also fed up with the common cold but I just hate to say goodbye.

Other than posting with Q9os under the gun (that's an automatic fold)...You played the hand fineThe only thing I would caution is don't ever get to in love with 2 pair, it is just 2 pair and the only thing it beats is a pair. In my limited experience, it seems to be one of the most overvalued/overplayed hands in low limit hold'emI've only been playing for a little over a year and I used to get frustrated in a situation like what you've described. But now, if I'm reasonably sure I played the hand the best way possible and got as much as I could in the middle as a big favorite, I'm ok with losing. It's the times when I know I played the hand or session like a donk that pisses me off now.Take a deep breath, reload and take comfort in knowing that the next 3 times you are in that situation, you'll take down the pot.Good luck...
