Satellite into Sunday tournament on Pokerstars - top 29 go in. I'm 32 out of 35 left when this hand occurs.PokerStars Game #1209482161: Tournament #5120989, Hold'em No Limit - Level XVI (4000/8000) - 2005/02/13 - 04:11:29 (ET)Table '5120989 29' Seat #5 is the buttonSeat 1: GangSarge (63680 in chips) Seat 2: LIQUIDDRAGON (97933 in chips) Seat 3: sagewalker (32681 in chips) Seat 4: gcDanno (100219 in chips) Seat 5: abelincoln54 (132422 in chips) Seat 6: Byson1 (130599 in chips) Seat 7: gobears (44177 in chips) Seat 8: LouieOneTime (118116 in chips) Seat 9: rockdown (148894 in chips) GangSarge: posts the ante 400LIQUIDDRAGON: posts the ante 400sagewalker: posts the ante 400gcDanno: posts the ante 400abelincoln54: posts the ante 400Byson1: posts the ante 400gobears: posts the ante 400LouieOneTime: posts the ante 400rockdown: posts the ante 400Byson1: posts small blind 4000gobears: posts big blind 8000*** HOLE CARDS ***Dealt to gobears [Kc Kd]LouieOneTime: folds rockdown: folds GangSarge: folds LIQUIDDRAGON: folds sagewalker: folds gcDanno has timed outgcDanno: folds gcDanno is sitting outabelincoln54: raises 16000 to 24000Byson1: folds gobears: calls 16000*** FLOP *** [6d Ad Jh]gobears: checks abelincoln54: bets 24000gcDanno has returnedgobears: calls 19777 and is all-in*** TURN *** [6d Ad Jh] [Td]*** RIVER *** [6d Ad Jh Td] [Th]*** SHOW DOWN ***gobears: shows [Kc Kd] (two pair, Kings and Tens)abelincoln54: shows [Qs Ac] (two pair, Aces and Tens)abelincoln54 collected 95154 from potI didn't re-raise pre-flop since I had last action and Abe was going to call me no matter what since he had a big stack. After the flop, I figured that an A meant that I was in bad shape. But if I folded at this point, then I was down to last position out of 35. So I called and went out as he did have an A in 34th - five away from the entry. Almost hit runner runner diamond but missed the river on that as well. Q would have given me a straight so I had a few more outs as it turned out.I hate going out near the bubble!

Yeah going out on the bubble really sucks. That said, I really don't think there's any reason not to go allin preflop here. The only reason not to IMO is if you ARE going to bail with an ace on the flop. Otherwise there is absolutely no real reason not to reraise allin preflop imo.You said it yourself, you're not going to get away from the hand anyway because you'd have no chips, so what's the point of flat calling, and check-calling the ace-high flop.

Yeah, I think MrConceit is correct. If you are not going to bail if an A comes on the flop, then just go all-in right away and at least you can say you got your money in when you had the best hand. It would have sucked to fold the hand and be in last chip position, but wouldn't it have been better than being gone? Sure, you didn't know he had an A, but it was very likely and you did know that.
