$50 to $1000 on pstars day 13-15 100 hand edition

Recommended Posts

The GoalTo turn $50 in my first Pokerstars deposit into $1000.The RulesI'll play only Limit games, primarily Holdem, though I might mix in some O8 or Stud etc. later on.I won't move up in limits without at least 300BB for the new limit. I will post hands that I win and lose and explain my thinking behind how I played them.I'm too lazy to spellcheck. Deal with it.Day 13-15 Movin on up...to the east side....to the deluxe .25/.50 game in the sky eye eyeWell, since I last posted I ground my way up to $150 and have moved up to the land of rake and the tightest .25/.50 games ever. I've been a little lazy in terms of game selection to be honest, but I've noticed a lot of the pstars micro games are weirdly tight pre-flop. When I say weirdly tight, I mean often 2 or 3 to the flop but sometimes two out of three have 82s and k8.Anyway, had a sweet 40BB down session my first day with some amazing bad beats. The ones that really get to you, where someone caps every street with 33 and then hits the set on the river...but I didn't get the HH.I popped right back up over $150 the next day, but I played some drunken 1/2 O8 and lost a goodly chunk of money a few nights ago, so the BR is at about $130 presently. I'll soldier on at .25/.50 unless I dip below $100 in which case I'll drop back down. Hey, I'm only human.Edit: I'm playing while I write this and am back to $150. So there you go, my drunken O8 night is forgivenHere are some hands, 100 hands as a bonus for me not posting it for a week or whatever:Dealt to thecandle [2d 3c]tigboy: foldsfunk it: foldstdtooms: foldsloujers: foldsthecandle: foldsI'm pretty much out of clever fold witisisms, so I figured I throw some romance novel stuff in instead.Ariel folded wistfully as she looked out from the balcony as Whitt's horse sent purple tinted clouds of dust into the warm sunset Georgia air.Dealt to thecandle [2s 2c]tdtooms said, "yep"atasker: foldstigboy: foldsfunk it: foldstdtooms: foldsloujers: foldsthecandle: foldsHey, look, I folded a PP. Okay I have to ask this question for you smash.Although it does involve B&M play, the same can be applied to online play.I went down to foxwoods, and got into a 2/4 limit game. Now I don't know if you have ever been there, but you don't get to select the table you sit at. There is about a 5-7 hour wait just to sit in a game so unfortunately table selection is a non-issue.I sit down and proceed to get amazing starters. AA, AK, QQ, 10 10, and the like. Problem was it was 6-7 to the flop almost every hand. They were playing everything, capped bets with 84 off, UTG raises with K6 off. I tried to raise and get big pots so when I did finally take one down it made up for the rest of the good hands that got shot down by shitty cards.Anyways, I came home pretty much even for 5 hours of play, and I sit online for awhile. I get into a .25/.50 table and the same thing is going on. 6 players to a flop playing anything and everything. How would you deal with something like this if it started happening during one of your playing sessions? They are fish just waiting to throw their money away, but when it's that many to a flop, you pretty much have to hit the absolute nuts not to get out drawn. Is it best just to find a new table, or try and stick with your normal game and hope they don't hit their shit cards?I ask because I see most of the games you play there is like 2 or 3 to a flop but where I play and at the limits my bankroll can afford I don't see that.

Just curious, what kind of characteristics would one want to see while selecting an online limit holdem table?
These are just my criteria, but ...I always look for a flop % of 35+. I usually want that combined with a lot of action (typically at least 7 big bet average pot - so, for a .25/.50, I'd look for a table with an average pot size of $3.50+. On PStars, though, they don't do decimals on their table stats - so I'd look for a $4+ average pot size.).I play tight, for what it's worth.

I must say I'm extremely dissapointed with Smash's most recent post. I sat at his table for an hour and won exactly .25 cents, winning a 5 dollar pot with a straight flush and I didn't make any of his hands. As far as I'm concerned, you suck Smash....lolJK

The main one I play is Stars 1/2. Average there is like 30%/$10 =.I play Party now and again, when there are reloads ... I always look for a $10+ table in the .50/1 though, as Party doesn't give flop %.

I'm so used to Party where they're just sitting in my PT database.
