Villian is a TAG. Something like 21/15/2.Sometimes I raise this on the flop, because people are untrusting at 6-max. TAGs tend to be able to let go of a hand early. I usually raise the turn in these situations. His gay-bet-out makes me think a hand like 99-JJ, so you're not risking all that much by waiting until the river. I just almost never wait until the river to raise. I just like the idea of making my opponents make decisions on the turn. I put in a fair number of semi-bluffs and pure-bluffs on the turn, so showing that I'm capable/likely to wait for the turn with a good-not-great hand is helpful against thinking opponents. I get called down by a hand like 99 in these situations all the time by tighter opponents, and sometimes 3-bet.If you're pretty sure he's drawing slim, I like the play, as long as you're popping any turn diamond.Ice

i think here this line is perfect since he can pretty much only put you on a king, a set or aces if you raise the turn. sure it changes if you bluff/semi-bluff on the turn a lot.

Thanks for the replies.I like the idea of popping him on the turn unless he's overly aggressive. As Ice said, it's good to put your opponents to difficult decisions, especially if you are doing your fair share of semi-bluffing. Another thing to consider is that he may not bet the river with JJ-99, or a weak king.I think for the most part the turn raise would be best. Occassionally I should throw in a few flop raises/river raises.

Yeah, that's probably the best justification for the play. It makes you extra money much of the time, rarely costs you the pot, and allows you to keep your opponent on his heels.
