Should I be calling here?I had only been at the table like 4 hands. No readsbut the players had nice sized stacks...Is my hand even any good at the river? Afterwards though, I looked at the stack sizes of thespecific guys involved.Do implied odds come in to play here, when I have relatively little to lose, but tonnes to gain?

Implied odds and pot odds can really only work well if you have a bit of a read on your opponents. One of the main problems is even if you "hit" this hand, you could be in very big trouble. Reverse implied odds say this hand is more trouble than it's worth unless your opponents are morons.Now I've been on tables where people are aggressive and can't lay down their overpair to a 200xBB bet. Then it's worthwhile.

well on the flop you are most likely good, same goes for the turni like the pf fold just because your position is horribleif you were the button in this example then i of course would advocate a call here

Can't argue too much about the pf call. That being said, it has been my experience that these connecting hands (suited or not) make me the most $$ by far. I almost always call a small raise with this hand (even 54) and take a flop.You do have to be prepared to let it go post flop obviously if you dont flop well enough to it.Brunson's original Super System talks in depth about these hands and how you can break a big pair with them.
