Is checking the river silly?
oh yea, considering the action up to there i say bet that. no way you are beat, after BB checks twice.value bet it
I don't think I'm beat either, but I wouldn't want to call a c/r.What size bet do you make on this river? Pot sized? $2?

meh he probly cant call a pot bet if beaten, smallish value...lie 1/3 to 1/2.then if you win the showdown, type in the chat box "<---legend"this usually pissed people off and is +EV

Haven't read replies...Yeah... checking the river is a little silly. The key here is he checked the river out of position... after checking the turn after check/calling the flop. That means he doesn't have the new top pair beat.Value bet slightly less than pot and make him think his garbage flopped pair is good.

Then don't! That's what's great about your situation here. "Small pot" ... "if c/r, then you're highly likely beat, odds are, no c/r and odds are aces are waaaaaaay good here."You know this stuff from limit, silly!

I think that nice, purdy, small looking, single red $5 chip is perfect. In real life, I deliberately toss it kind of haphazardly so that it rolls around on the table, and then I snatch it, say sorry, and place it in front of me. The funnest part about no limit is picking exactly what amount you're going to bet, and why, and the psychology that goes into it.

Considering that the way you played it coupled with a river bet would scream an ace (probably a strongish one), i sincerely doubt that you're getting checkraised here, unless he has A/5 (or maybe A/8 ).If he does, i think it's a safe fold against virtually all opponents.
