I dont know if any of you read the thread I posted on which dvd or set of dvd's was worth the buy. I was stuck between 4 or 5 different dvd's that i wanted to purchase but I was mostly leaning towards 2, the 20 years of WSOP set and the 4th Annual Poker Players Conference. I decided to buy the PPC and after watching them here is my review: The dvd's are deffenitaley worth the buy. Just the first two sections alone will make your money back in seconds. The quality of the dvd is ok and it has a bit of mistakes in the editing and the sound sync ( very minor). it is a set of two dvd's and over 4 hours of footage by the best players out there, this is what they talked about. The first seminar was by Lee Jones and it talked about Sit N GO tournaments. I enjoyed his lecture very much, the base of the strategy that Lee talks about I was very familiar with and acoording to most posts on Sit N Go Strategy on this site many people know it as well. The thing is that Lee gives tips ( that at least I didnt know) that will help me go from cashing in 35 percent to cashing in 45 or 50% of the SNG's that i play. He helps remind you of what not to do and who not to mess with. I give it an AThen comes our boy Daniel, and he speaks about final table strategy. GREAT ADVICE on something that no one talks about(Ive been in one final table with an average stack and finished seven cause i didnt know what to do). Also very entertaining and funny, I wonder if Phil Hellmuth still talks to him after the way Daniel picked on him. Daniel talks about 9 handed all the way to heads up, he also talks strategy acoording to stack size. A++ excellent congrats Daniel on a great seminar. The third is Mike Caro. Now yes, he's a genius, but the man is not meant for giving seminars he goes off track he tells to many stories and for anyone who has already seen caro's major poker seminar he repeats himself too much. good tips and pointers though its worth listening to but it could be better, give it a C After that is Tannenbaum (dont remember his first name) very good seminar on basic Holdem strategy and what to do in certain situations, he explains exactly what to look for in a game and what to do, B+next is Mark Gregorich and he gives an interesting seminar that has nothing to do w/ startegy, he basically says what it is like and what it takes to become a pro poker player. great different speech I liked it a lot because it answered questions that most books dont have about the general life of a player, (i think i might be confusing the order a little but who cares) ANext is a seminar by Linda Johnson and some dude i dont remember probably good though ,, i didnt watch it because it is on omaha 8 or something ..Ill watch it when I learn the game better which i do plan on doing, ....??Next is the Q&A part with a pannel of four including Doyle Brunson, Jennifer Harman, Roy Cook (i think i misspelled the names) and some one else that was good (the name doesnt come to me at the moment) Generally good although most questions sucked. Comon!!! if you where asking THE GREAT DOYLE one question would it really be how to play Aces or how much to buy in for at the table?? Read his book and ask them something significant! B-There u go ,, all in all it was a good buy (I cashed two out of five SNG's today, not the greatest result, but I lost with the best hand in two of them so i guess there will be better days) the dvd already payed for itself so its a win win situation.

I agree. Educational wise was better than anything out there, along side caros tells video. Enjoyed it. Didn't go into too much detail about starting hands etc, whihc is a good thing, they take it you know how to play so concentrate on tweaking/getting you in the correct mind set or decision mode which i thought helped. On the final table I now do a bit more limping when it gets shorthanded where as before I was raise or fold. I keep thinking about Daniels description about fold too good a hand and raising with it when its not quite strong enough. So now I just limp. Easy when you think about it really and surprised I didn't do it before, glad daniel pointed it out. I liked the bit on pro gambling too by some guy(sorry i forgot)Great buy.

It is a great DVD. Tanenbaum's section is excellent and probably the most helpful. Daniel's was pretty solid and tweaked my final table play a bit. I thought Lee Jone's section was horrible. His statistics were weak (by weak, I mean off) . I got just about zero out of his seminar, but the rest of the DVD was good. George Epstein in the Q & A was pretty good. It's worth a buy if you are a fairly decent player looking to bump up a bit. If you're fairly advanced, there's just going to be a nugget here and there for you.

I know that they're about 40 bucks on ebay. Could you please review it and give your opinion on if it's worth it or not? And if I may ask, where are you purchasing it and for how much. thanks.

Where did you see this "20 years of WSOP" set? You'll see people selling this on ebay. just to let you know there all bootlegs from vhs transfered onto dvd's.I have been collecting wsop for 5+ years now and have 21 years up to now. Just to let you know also that they only started the card camera in 2000, so all the other WSOP they don't show you what they are holding, except some years they show you about 40% of what they have. they musta put that in after the game was over when they edited it.Hope this helpsp.s. finally watched the whole 2004 conference dvd, and it was great. totally worth it.
