well he's definitely not spamming for recpoker.com, as i can tell you theres no possible incentive. also, he doesnt even know what it is. Its not a forum, its a website that allows you to access the messages posted on the newsgroup rec.gambling.poker. As for what makes a newsgroup, i think #1 is the quality of the poker advice, which is mediocre here. a few knowledgeable players, and a lot who think they are knowledgeable but are not. RGP has a lot of knowledgeable posters, but they dont like answering basic questions, so its not so hot for beginners either. 2+2 quite frankly has the best poker advice, if you can translate their math nerd VP$IP ratio / LAx-At type player descriptions. If you cant, they get the humour nod as it becomes quite funny. #2 is the community aspect, which this site has in spades. #3 would be the humour content, the title for which goes to RGP. You just have to learn to appreciate the sarcasm.
