That's not really very impressive. You bet at the pot after it was checked around twice, and then got a fold when a scare card came on the river. I'd say that barely even counts as a bluff. A real bluff is when you can tell the other guy's betting defensively because he's scared, and you have nothing, but you raise the size of the pot to get him off the hand. This one? Pretty standard. I'm not impressed.

[quote]This one? Pretty standard.[quote]flop is standard, nice river bet -- i think alot of times villain has a missed draw -- or they have a hand that is winning right now like 3rd or bottom pair and you want to give them a chance to fold

A few things...Is this 1/2 or .50/1? There seems to be discrepancy in the hand history. What are the stack sizes? This impacts your ability to bluff and bet sizes.I prefer re-raising in this spot pre-flop. You're in position, and you're much more likely to win the hand if you miss on the flop.

It's in the strategy section not the general. He's asking for input on the hand. Not a brag post. He's not here to impress you so keep it yourslef if you have nothing constructive to say.I've highlighted the only constructive thing you had to say.My thoughts: raise preflop can be good w/ position to get it to heads up. Calling is fine too.Being that you didn't raise preflop. I like the rest of the hand. I would have increased the turn bet a little bit to about 9-10 to really put some pressure on. The 1/2 pot bet will get called a lot by marginal hands which you're looking to run out.

Anyone else amused by the fact that DN posted UTG+1 in his little example?
