I am a very successful SNG player and recently decided to make the switch to multitables. I would consider my style to be slightly on the agressive side, but not close to being hyperaggressive. The last 4 nights in a row, I have played in the STARS 10+1 MTT at 7:45 and also the 20+2. I am not exagerating when I say, that for the 4 nights in a row, I have been absolutely card dead. In the 4 tourney's TOTAL, I have seen 6 PP. They were, 44; 55; JJ; KK; and AA. The KK and AA were in the last tourney, with my KK being my exit to AT off. My question is...IS THIS NORMAL?? You guys that play in these MTT often, do you go through periods such as this? I really appreciate any advice one could give me.Thnx

I have a couple things for you.1st, there is no question to do well in MTT you have to learn how to win without the cards. Obviously, you can't get absolutely no cards and do well, but you have to learn to read weak bets, use postion, etc. to be able to build your stack in a MTT with out getting great cards. If you're complaning about not getting AA, KK and other PP's, that probably means you're playing too tight. Tight players don't do well in MTT. Tight works in a SNG because you only need to get AA, double up, then you're in great shape to make the money. Not the case in MTT. When I'm playing really well, I actually don't mind not ever getting AA or KK. If course I'll take'em, but those are the hands that get me busted most often. When I'm playing well, I don't need those cards to build my stack. One more thing on that subject, I would just shy away from mentioning getting bad cards when you don't do well in a tournament. That implies that is only about the cards. So then when you do well, you have to also assume it was only because of the cards.2nd thing, the pokerstars $10-$20 tournaments are no easy task for a beginner. I'd start at some of the smaller tournaments on UB or Bugsys if I were you. There are so many people in those stars tournaments (many of them pretty good players) that it may be a while before you could consistantly do well in those. I got really lucky and made a final table in one of those really earlier in my "poker career." I then went broke trying to make another final table. I think the bottom line is pokerstars is a tough site and a lot of players lose a lot of money playing the $10-20 tournaments when they don't have the necessary experience.Just my thoughts. Hope they help.
