Same villian as in luckbox mcgee hand. He's 21/14/2.47. I still haven't figured out he's actually very good, and am still treating him as a LAG.Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cxPreflop: Hero is SB with J:club:, J:diamond:. Without the J :club: , I'm tempted to think that bet/folding the flop might be correct. As it played out, I'm not even sure I like calling the 3-bet, but maybe for metagame purposes.

Bet/folding is overused. It allows you to get out-played too often, thus losing the entire pot.Villain capped preflop. So he should be raising this flop with anything.Your check-raise on the flop eliminates UTG2.And once you check-raise, you have to call the 3bet.But could a worse card have hit the turn? You played it as I would have.--cnm

in a hand with pre-flop raises, i think you can almost never bet/fold the flop. i think bet/folding is a useful tool, but mostly on rivers and to a lesser extent on turns. bet/folding the flop, especially when there's been pre-flop raising is usually a mistake since many people auto-bet/raise UI.with that turn card, i think you gotta check/fold. with any other turn card, it's a tough decision whether to call down, bet/fold, etc, but with that one you gotta dump 'er. you can consider bet/folding that turn, but only against a notably weak opponent.
