I think I'd check/fold this flop. Reverse implied odds are not your friend here. SSHE recommends completing in the SB with any two suited in case you flop a flush draw, not so you can lose money with marginal pair hands like this.Jeff

i'm posting blind here, but i think this is a pretty easy hand to get away from. you can't really protect it on the flop, and you are extremely likely to be drawn out on if you aren't already behind. your reverse implied odds are oppressively bad. i don't mind the fact that you tried to take it down on the flop, but once you have callers and a K falls on the turn, i think it's a check/fold.

why are we putting 2 SB's into a 8 SB pot against 6 others with 82?And basically not hope to improve, and so unlikely to end up with the best hand.
why can we not hope to improve? i could very well have 5 outs here. i think betting out is clearly incorrect since we do not have any kind of equity advantage against 5 or 6 others. but given the late position bettor could be drawing very thin and i am only like to get one cold-caller or so, i think against those two i have pretty good equity. especially since i now have the lead and should be able to get away from hands.i will agree though that this is pretty marginal. i had planned on check/folding, and seriously considered folding even to the button bet. without relatively strong table reads, i'd have folded there. i felt given strong table reads, i'd be able to play the hand optimally from there on, and my equity was strong enough against 1-2 others to make this a solid play.the above was my reasoning, though i don't know if all that adds up to my play being correct - am very happy to hear more/further criticism as well though. daniel

I think expecting/getting 4 folds on your c/r is quite ambitious. Also, why are you folding the turn ??What about those 5 outs you mention ?
Now that you mention it, getting 4 folds is quite ambitious, consider the player who did cold-call was almost a guaranteed caller, so essentially I got 3/3 folds. The 5 outs were not guaranteed of course, I only said we possibly had 5 outs. Obviously though, none are strong and some or all might be dirty.

Good point here. If a better turn hits I think you should continue betting it but when the K hits check/folding might be the way to go.
