I don't like raising QJo from EP. I also don't like you checking TP with a 2-flush onboard. By checking there, you could have given a free card, plus you had to call a huge bet with TPWK when KJ, AJ, and any 5x beats you.AK was a good laydown.I don't like you coming over the top with 33 on that flop. 3 overcards, so any pair has you beat; QJ has two overs and an OESD; 86 and J8 already have a straight; A :D x :) has a flush draw and two overs. Just a really bad play IMO.

the first play didn't make sense. even ignoring the pre-flop raise with QJ (not a good idea, especially not in NL), why check the flop?? i really didn't understand that move.the second play was fine, don't worry about what cards came up. you were behind against QQ and JJ. great fold.the third play also didn't make sense. why call with 33 in early position? from those three hands, the game seemed aggressive (i could be wrong) so it was likely you'd have to put in more chips which you wouldn't want to do, especially out of position as you were. second, why go all-in to his bet on the flop for only ~$10 more? he won't fold to that, and the flop was just terrible for 33. if you had hit a set it would have been a different story, but you didn't...aseemp.s. in the future, don't type anything in like "wow" and "runner runner". it only provokes people and causes you to go on tilt when they provoke you back. really, don't do it, and ignore anybody that gives you a hard time. let them keep playing the way they did, and not everyone is ignorant enough to actually think that their suckout wasn't a suckout--a lot of people will needle their opponents by claiming that the other person made a bad call or that they were ahead on their gutshot draw, etc.

After reading your two responses I agree that I made a bad play with the 33 hand. I guess the reason I made this play was because I put the guy on a hand like AK, AQ, AJ, KQ. Now I think it was a bad play even though my read was "sorta" right (two overs, but didn't expect open-ended). On the QJ hand, the table was pretty tight up until a couple of hands before when dickbeas had just sat down so I figured I could get it 3-handed or heads up(still EP raise, bad play in retrospect). He was the type of player that would push hard on boards like these so I figured he was on hearts or had a J (hopefully a worse kicker than mine) I agree that I shouldn't have checked that hand. The funny thing though was that dickbeas busted out about two hands later when he had J :D 7 :D with a board of 4 6 9 on the flop and he called a $7 bet turn came 7 and then he called a $15 bet river gave a 10 and then it went check check the other guy had A :) A :) :roll:Oh, and the reason why I said wow, runner runner was because I couldn't believe that it would be an 8 and a 9 that would beat me! It just seemed like a slap in the face to me.

After reading the three responses to the QJ hand and getting responses like...
You raise preflop, then you hit the flop, but instead of betting out here you check? Why? That's a horrible call. Just horrible. I understand you happened to be way ahead, but it's still just a mind-bogglingly horrible call.
and
the first play didn't make sense. even ignoring the pre-flop raise with QJ (not a good idea, especially not in NL), why check the flop?? i really didn't understand that move.
and
I don't like raising QJo from EP. I also don't like you checking TP with a 2-flush onboard. By checking there, you could have given a free card, plus you had to call a huge bet with TPWK when KJ, AJ, and any 5x beats you.
I have to say the following things. First off, yes it was stupid of me to raise with that hand in EP let alone calling it, I usually don't even call in those situations, however I felt that my reads were strong that night and that I could outplay most of the opponents at that table post-flop, if I missed completely I was ready to throw away that hand immediately. The reason for checking that hand was to see how the other three played that board, like I said I had a lot of confidence in my reads. If Geoff were to bet at the pot I probably would've folded however, dickbeas was the type of player who would push on hands he missed with scary boards or boards that offered nothing to a raised pot (ie. 268 or something like that) and he would tend to "milk" you if he hit top pair or better. That is my reasoning for calling the all-in. I understand the odds of this hand for calling on face value are horrible but it is NL and to be honest with you I thought I had him even more dominated than I actually did. I put him on a hand like K10 or K9 or A10 etc. etc. The 33 was stupid, I agree with that I don't know what possesed me to play it, probably the QJ hand lol.
