This is a $100 NL hand on PartyUTG+1 is semi-tight, Button is semi-loose/passive.Hero has Q :D 7 :) in the SBUTG+1 calls, Button calls, I call, BB checksFlop: J :D 7 :) 7 :club: I check, BB checks, UTG+1 bets $5, Button calls $5, I raise to $15, everyone folds. The $5 is an overbet by $1, which is kinda curious, it's definitely not out of character for button to call with any draw.My question: 1. Should I have led the flop ?2. Was the amount of the c/r ok?any other critiques?
The path
of the righteous man is beset on
all sides by the inequities of the
selfish and the tyranny of evil
men. Blessed is he who, in the
name of charity and good will,
shepherds the weak through the
valley of darkness, for he is truly
his brother's keeper and the finder
of lost children.
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those
who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.
And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

If you want to push out flush draws you need to raise a little bigger I think.Since they folded I doubt they had any, unless ultra tight, or just don't want to draw with a paired board.I like leading flops I hit, so I'd like to lead here. But if I'm in the sb and this happens it usually depends on my opponents as to what I do.You can really bait a LAG into raising you with a good flop bet here, otherwise you need a fish willing to call down with Jx, etc...or chase a flush.I have a few hands from this session I just played like this. One I played similar to your, c/r with trips from sb, and the other I lead on flop.I'll say this...when I lead with strong hands, having raised or not preflop, most guys just don't give credit cause they expect you to slow play.c/r on paired flops, especially from sb's scream "I am strong".change it up next time, or post a hand where you did lead a flop like this.- Jordan

I used to lead flops that I hit like this and look to get played back at. However, recently i find myself just chasing everybody out. I like C/R here and i like the amount. I think it's enough to chase flush draws out since there's a paired board and your representing you have the 7.

What time is it where you live? Are you already ****ing drunk?I think a check raise is the way this hand is normallu played and lets everyone know you have the 7 if the want to draw to the gutshot or flush draws. I think it is a safe play and is +EV but I normally go another route.I personally like leading from the SB there because it is a lot harder to put you on a hand and Jx are likely to call or pocket pairs/overpairs.If I had a pocket pair, 7x, two hearts, Jx I'd probably make the same lead bet on the flop. Can lead to jX's calling you down all the way where as when you c/r they let go of it right away.

I usually lead out with these hands....chances are if you get a bet and then you raise you usually aren't going to get any action after that as most people will put you on trips....I lead out as people are less likely to think you have the trips as a lot of donks think "there's no way he'd lead out with trips here".
Marc Savard finished tied for 8th in league scoring with 96 points.

Used to feel the same exact way. these types of situations have not worked out for me that way. As I said before, for some reason i just run everyone out now.
