dimseven 0
5-10 FULL limitI have 4-4 in the BBUTG limps, UTG+2 limps, Hijack posts, Button limps, I check (BB).Flop: [5d 4d 2s]I BET, 2 folds, Hijack calls, Button calls.Turn: [5d 4d 2s] [9c]I bet, Hijack folds, Button calls.River: [5d 4d 2s] [9c] [Ad]I CHECK, button checks.Button was 28 / 2 / 0.38So I have a couple questions.1. Since his AF is low, I don't like bet-folding the river if he made a flush or had a 3 for some reason and raised me (because, I mean I have a SET!), but I thought my line was too passive, so is this an auto bet-call? If I get raised, I think for sure I'm beaten.2. Is the flop line ok? I hoped to get raised instead of check-raising on a dangerous flop.

Smasharoo 0
What if I get raised?Fold? What's the point of having this information about an opponent if you're not going to use it.Seriously, what's the fear. That he's an unagressive player who's suddenly going to bust out a raise on this river when a card completing every possible draw hits when he makes his hand that you bear? His A5 gets to two pair or something and he raises and you fold a winner? Is that the theory?

I'd bet the river for value, even though I'd not like it.
akishore 0
hey, haven't read replies, but usually the more passive your opponent is, the more reason you have to bet.folding a set kind of sucks, but b/f probably has better EV than c/c.aseem

Actuary 3
uh, I'm not 5-10 caliber, but I'll try.I like leading the flop, coordinated board, no reason to think any particular player will bet it for youI think the river check stinks. He's passive, thus you can safely fold to a raise. In fact, he's so passive, you might fold if he bet when checked to (not really, just making a point). Please bet/fold this river.Probably best to not show the check after by Button, it may bias critiquers.****** reading replies ******coolMaybe I should move up today!I'm in good company. dimseven 0
I think the river check stinks.I know! heh.The whole dilemma is that if I get raised, in the heat of the moment (so to speak) I don't think I'm going to fold the set, so due to that I'd be losing 2 BB on the river. But I def agree that bet fold is better than that weak ass check I made. akishore 0
I think that you played it fineno, he really didn't. sorry, this one isn't close at all.it's close between bet/fold and bet/call (a raise here could mean two pair that you beat, for example), but bet/fold is probably still better (a raise probably will mean a flush/straight much more than it means two pair).both options, however, are far better than check/call against this passive of an opponent.aseem

I don't think ths opponent is raising with two pair with a 4 straight and 3 flush. I think I'm beat for sure. Again I just would see myself having a hard time folding for one more BB if raised, even with the info...
dimseven 0
Also I was thinking it was probable that he had a mid pair higher than the flop? I remember when I started out (was super passive) and I would probably play a midpair like that (calling) and when the river hit and looked dangerous folding (like a moron)... so I don't even know if he would have called the river with something I beat. But I'm not trying to make a justification, I know the river check was plain bad, I knew that it was weak before I posted.
Actuary 3
I too suffer from missing_value_bets_cause_I_hate_folding_this_pretty_hand_damn_I_was_outdrawn_again_itisSo I spend my time wondering "Do I call down turn c/r's too often?" Instead of realizing that the difference in most cases is small; while, discounting the $$$$$$$ I'm losing by not betting on the river.Getting outdrawn made me a sissy. And I've been in recovery ever since.PFA used to be 3+, now its 1.6.
