edit: taking a shot at 100/200. pretty sure this is the right forum. i open with A :) 7 :club: in cutoff. this specific hand was in six max, but it really makes no difference.small blind and big blind defend.(6 sb) K :D J :) 4 :D check, check, i bet, sb calls, bb folds.sb is a super-straightforward loose/passive (but not retarded) mouse. his check/call here indicates no pair--he bet/calls any flopped pair. most likely a flush draw or a straight draw of some sort.(4 bb) 4 :club: check, i bet, call.(6 bb) K :club: check, i ...he doesn't fold a jack here, or any pocket pair if he's come this far. but, he might fold an ace, or might call with a Q. i really have no idea.does a bet here have any merit?aseem

I'm checking behind. Its highly unlikely that he folds any hand that has you beat (or A high for a split) and I don't see Q high calling to many river bets here.

So now you open with A7 from CO.. I don't think a bet does any good here. The chance that he has a flush draw + paired somewhere and will now fold to a single bet isn't worth the pot odds. Check and pray he has a busted flush.

Hey Aseem, I think it boils down to a small pot as well. If your read was correct it's reasonable that he is behind + can't call a bet. The times you bet and he calls with a better hand + folds a worse hand or calls with an Ace seem to offset those times your bet forces an Ace or a better hand to fold or a weaker hand to call often enough for this to be an unprofitable bet... I think.

Ill bet here, slight chance he'll fold (a better or equal hand), and if he does call and I lose, I'll get called down later more
Suggestive thinking, causing your perspective to change

Everything I need, leave it to the trees
It can make me feel better, and every day I wake
Niggas rollin' up blunts, and mo blunts, and mo blunts
And I keep a case of Swisher Sweets in the trunk
So when I'm rollin', smokin', chokin', just floatin

Yes.Bet it all day.On chance he folds an Ace.He's not raising this if he is straight foward. So you risk one bet to win 6 or split.******** read replies *********

i like a bet here - figure you're probably splitting with most any calls, though you may get called by Q-high. i think your read is too specific though - don't see how you be sure he is not check/calling with some paired hands. i think you can only bet here for value if that is a near-certainty.i just don't like showing down a hand like that though. your image will be that of a bluffer, since they won't realize the thought you put into your value bets. personally, i prefer a tight image, but you are much better at betting for value and not spewing, so perhaps a tight image is not as beneficial to you.cheers, daniel
